Re: Kent Game
I thought they played well. Some exciting dunks for those looking for excitement. Lots of scrapping, lots of turnovers for both teams due to the physical nature of the game. Kent really worked hard to pressure Crawford and he handled it well most of the time. Clarke got some decent minutes off the bench along with Sealy who really looked good tonight.
Seems the team plays well at home - better than most expect.

Loved TOs dunkaroos. Love Clarke getting 3 assists in 7 minutes. But ya wanna know what tickles me pink? Cam Black with 3 steals!

Re: Kent Game
This was the first time I had gotten to the Stroh all year, and this game was a blast. Scott Thoma and Torian Oglesby were phenomenal tonight, the former with his three point shooting and the latter with his inside play and dunks. The whole team was active in forcing turnovers and turning the Flashes' mistakes into quick offense the other way.
I now see why everybody finds Crawford so maddening. He does dribble the ball a lot and turn it over more than you'd like, but he hit some key outside shots and played solid defense. The one save he made while falling out of bounds after swiping the Kent player under the basket was one of the best plays I saw.
Thomas though...wow. The guy was on fire. I taunted #2 for Kent a few times from down in my corner seat...you might want to guard that guy, lol.

Re: Kent Game
Was wondering what is so special about KSUs, Justin Greene when I was told he is not 100%. He was still able to score some points. BUT it seemed several of his shots were rejected by BGs inside game.
My take on BG is that they are a solid team with decent DI players. So I give Louis Orr credit. What is puzzling is the fact they seem to underachieve. Not being able to win on the road, unable to win some close games at home, etc. After all they did beat Temple, a top 25 team. Thus, I feel with just a little better coaching and a little luck we could be at the top of the heap in the MAC;and, be putting 1200 more butts in the seats.

Re: Kent Game
This team is the most athletic team I can remember in BG. When was the last time we had two or three guys that play above the rim? That Brown/TO break-out-rim-rocker was AWESOME. Just about broke the DVR watching that one over and over. Think I'll go watch it again. Just fun!

Re: Kent Game
Actually, the best play of the game was the dude from Kent that came out of nowhere to block Crawford's three point attempt.
I wish Torian Oglesby was here for four years. I'm going to miss him.

Maybe TO will stick around for grad school. He won't play but then you won't miss him.

Re: Kent Game
I was sorry to miss the game while going to the hockey game. Just watched the DVR of the game and wow....what a game for BG. If Akron beats Ohio tonight, we are 2 back of UB and 1 back of Kent and Ohio. We can still get a bye....
BEAT MIAMI AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! SR night for Brown, Thomas and Oglesby....thanks for being FALCONS!!!!

Re: Kent Game
When we play like that, we can beat anyone in the MAC. The problem is, we show we can play like that in a game here and there, but can't seem to string together a couple performances like that when you need to, such as in the MAC Tournament. But that was a very entertaining game and great to get the win.

Re: Kent Game
Freak, regardless of what else happens, I think if BG is 10-6 by winning their final 2 games, we've got a bye. We'll probably tie with either Kent or UB, and we'll have tiebreaker over one of them.Falconfreak90 wrote:I was sorry to miss the game while going to the hockey game. Unless EMU somehow finishes 10-6 and lands the tiebreaker over us, which would suck since the only reason they're 8-6 is because of all those games against the crappy west teams.

Re: Kent Game
BG24, unfortunately we already lost tie breaker with UB. Even if we beat them we lose the tie breaker. We lose tie breaker to both OU and Buffalo as they have beaten the highest seed Akron and we lost twice to Akron. Akron, OU and UB already have the 1-3 seeds. Sorry to burst your hope. The last seed is between Kent, BG and EMU. As posted in other thread, in order for BG to get #4 seed they need to win out, Kent needs to lose both games and EMU needs to lose once. It's slim but as in the movie Dumb and Dumber, "So your saying there is still a chance."

Re: Kent Game
yup! I enjoyed the win and I enjoyed watching them win. I enjoyed the hot dog shots as well as regular shots. I enjoyed watching Crawford smack the ball out of their hands.
One question that has nothing to do with the game - After having my ticket checked all season to make sure I wasn't trying to sit in someone else's section, where were all those dudes that check us? Were they all needed to check tickets at the hockey game? Did someone forget to tell them about the time change? Did we forget to pay them?
