Speaking of bowl games I would like to see them cut in half. I would like the top 2 teams in non-BCS conferences to have the opportunity to go, and only the top 4 teams in BCS conferences go. This would create better match-ups and make the season relevant again. But I would want the championship game between the MAC and Sun Belt to be a bowl game. I will be curious to see how the CUSA and MWest work out their arrangement.

Money, money, oh and more money. The MAC is the low end street hooker, while the BCS are high class escorts.

I think we gained something from all of those relationships. Marshall came in kicked all of our asses for a few years and forced the conference members to up the ante...they shook the conference out of the doldrums and helped it gain some notoriety thanks to Randy Moss and co. UCF helped the conference make a bigger footprint in Florida...and it isn't like they didn't make it clear from day one they were out of here at the first opportunity. Temple helped us land UMass. If we don't want to expand the conference by taking in FCS schools already in out footprint like Illinois State and Youngstown State, it makes sense to look eastward. UMass could be a bridge to land schools like James Madison, ODU or Delaware. Plus..the conference will get some $$$ for an early exit fee from the Owls.
I would prefer Temple to stick to their agreement and give two years notice...but that looks like it isn't going to happen. So give us the $$$ and go.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
I think the biggest question that needs to be answered is this...if Temple is gone this year, what does that do to the rest of the MAC in terms of conference scheduling? If we're not being shifted to the West after all, BG most likely doesn't play NIU, doesn't play WMU, and most likely doesn't play 1 of CMU, EMU, and BSU - Those games end up getting replaced by games against Miami, Akron, and Kent, who we as of now aren't slated to play next season.
Ay Caramba.

I agree and was wondering the same thing. I would guess since the MAC already released the schedule before this potential move by Temple, the MAC is likely coming up a revised schedule if it occurs. To be honest, I hope Temple does go. I also hope BG goes back to the East with the rest of our programs and I would be very excited to see our new 2012 schedule.

The Big East is trying to add Temple for this year to avoid a scheduling nightmare.
Yeah if they can't get an eighth team for next season teams may play one conference opponent twice, because trying to get to six OOC games now is the real nightmare with so many schools already having all the OOC games they need scheduled, and the Big East schools don't want to schedule two games vs FCS in the same season
If BG gets moved back to the East, I am picking us #2 in the East for 2012. If we stay in the West, I am picking us #5 in the West in 2012. No question about it, I want Temple to bolt and for the MAC to put us back in the East.

33,
If this is indeed true, I still think the MAC should've INSISTED on a Mill. per TEAM. To hell with Temple and it's " thanks guys..see ya" attitude... PAY THE PIPER!!!
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
I could care less about them leaving, and the only reason I am caring about this one bit is hoping it gets BG back to the MAC East, or changing up the conference picture all together, for everyone, not just us again.
