Man...this is the one time this year I wish I could be at the Ice Arena...

New Ice Arena attendance record... over 5000

Falcons lost 3-0 after two third period goals and an empty netter by the Wolverines. Tough game... just looks like we ran out of gas.

I can say this though; I'm truly excited about where this team can and will go in the future. They're starting to figure out how they play together.

Here are the photos from tonight:

It was great to finally get to the Ice Arena for a game tonight. Man was the IA loaded to the max tonight...I got there early in the 2nd period immediately following the end of the men's basketball game, and my goodness there was nowhere to sit at all!

The game itself was riveting for most of the way, and after the win yesterday, the two basketball wins today, with the game tied, you almost got the feeling that it was all building to one unbelievable climax. Unfortunately it wasn't to be in the end as the team seemed to run out of gas in the 3rd period, but they played hard.

We won our 1st round playoff series last year...it could easily happen again this time around as long as we find a way to put some pucks in the net. Hammond can't do it all on his own.

What a way to end the year! =D> packed house, good effort by the guys on the ice, weekend split against the #3 team and a really talented UofM team at that, really wish I could have been there, I wasn't even able to listen on the web, hopefully we carry this into the CCHA tourney and turn some heads in the process...

are there any youtube videos of the crowd or pictures of the crowd? or anything like that?

Go Falcon Hockey!!!

The GWG by Williamson was SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

CCHA will post highlights from tonight's game sometime tomorrow or Monday.

Fantastic weekend and great effort by the guys! So proud of this team and how far they have come!!

GO FALCONS!!
BEAT THE WILDCATS!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Pictures 6 & 16 are the best I've seen. There were a few empty seats but not many. I only wish the crowd noise we heard in the 2nd followed the rest of the game.

Meanwhile over at the Stroh around 2,500 - a very typical crowd for a game other than Toledo. Wonderful weekend in ol' BG - just like the I remember them as a student except the double-header moved from AA to the Stoh. I also remember the athletic department being slightly stressed and they never had to deal with 2 games going on at the same time - tough believe they could do this but they seemed to pull it off decent enough IMO.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

The place was packed Sat night...and even though BG lost, it was so cool to see so many people there. IMO, BG will be no worse than .500 next season. I don't get many chances to see them play but the last couple months have been a lot of fun.

Great seeing you @ both venues - chief is huge and my hand still hurts. Also "STILL" waiting for my picture w/Freddie & Freida. Maybe someone on this board can give you some help in sending?

That atmosphere was awesome. Brought back memories of my college days and even earlier, when I unfortunately wasn't 6'2" and able to see over four rows of people at the glass. :)

Saw Chief after the game and shouted out to him. Absolutely unmistakable, can't wait to see him on the O-line.

The guys were relentless, just relentless, all weekend. Come from behind three times and win? Yeah! Saturday's game was as exciting as heck. Breakaways, great saves, scoring chances. To tell the truth, I figured it was unlikely that we'd sweep so I was holding out for a 1-0 loss in overtime, which would tell the college hockey world we shut 'em out for 60 minutes. The 3-0 score of course does not reflect how close the game was.

Here's an idea for the "cya" chant: Customize it. For Michigan, "See ya, bye-bye, weasel!" LSSU: Anchor. That's, um, about all I've got.
