This was the first game I got to see this year. Been trying to keep up by reading here and bgnews but this was true first and only my impression. Fair D at best, no offense couldn't even tell what they were trying to do other than miss outside shots, and no players on the team who can lead anyody anywhere. Not a single man who could step up the whole game.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Another loss as close as you could have one.....simply terrible! Terrible, terrible, terrible! For CMU to come into OUR house and knock us out like that is a disgrace! Blowing another 9-point second-half lead (just like our last game) and losing on the final play just like against Akron and Buffalo - and hell, just like football does! Terrible! But we deserved this.
GO BG!!!
Re: No tv Tonight?
This was THE year for Orr. His best team just finished 16-15 and got bounced by a horrible Central team.
Goodbye.
Goodbye.

Unfortunately this was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I've been a full supporter of Coach Orr for his entire tenure but this season we just had too much talent to be barely .500 and have a first round exit.

You might as well have watched the entire season. Extrapolate that over 4 months and you will understand the pain that I feel in my soul...The Niz wrote:This was the first game I got to see this year. 4-20 from 3.
Austin Calhoun and Scott Thomas might as well have been Penn and Teller with the disapearing act they made on the offensive end of the ball this week. Thomas had 0 steals the last two games after averaging 2.6 a game prior.

Re: No tv Tonight?
Calhoun disappearing was on par for the season. Guy just no showed so many times.
Re: No tv Tonight?
Did anyone even watch this game??? Central ran a triangle and 2 on Crawford and Thomas, leaving 2 guys down low on Calhoun and basically said "OK Dee Brown, go ahead and beat us." Dee was incapable. Don't be fooled by his 20 point game. He was awful.Falcon137 wrote:Calhoun disappearing was on par for the season. Guy just no showed so many times.

Re: No tv Tonight?
Bizarre team this year. BG was one of 6 teams to beat Temple, who was one 5 teams to beat Duke. BG could be this close to beating Akron and Buffalo, beat Kent and Ohio, but laid a few stinkers at bad times and picked the worst possible time today for a stinker. The team was very reliant on Jordan Crawford. If he has a good game, plays disciplined, plays smart, they win, but he was inconsistent much of the season as you would expect a young player to be. I only heard the last five minutes or so, so I won't attempt any analysis on this game outside what I heard. What I heard was a lack of concentration, a case of overconfidence, a very unfortunate late offensive foul, and perhaps a trigger shy Jordan Crawford. So based off what I saw this season and what I heard of the game today, as Jordan Crawford improves and becomes more consistent ... which he will ... this team will improve greatly and I do believe he's going to be a seriously fun player to watch in the future. Too bad Brown, Oglesby, and Thomas aren't available again, each of those guys had some great moments the last few years. Thomas to me is a great team player, a very versatile guy, Brown improved night and day from freshman year to now, and Oglesby was the most fun player to watch since Nate Miller a few years ago.

Re: No tv Tonight?
One man can't win a game here. The team should have done something about the 212 not Brown. A real offensive scheme could have probably torn that D to shreds, the rest of the MAC did all season...

Not on defense he wasn't.MarkL wrote: Brown improved night and day from freshman year to now
And don't look at his 20 point game tonight as a positive. Central literally didn't guard him, gambled that he couldn't be the one that beat them, and they were right.

There is nothing worse than getting embarrassed and then have delusional fans come on the board and make absurd comments.MarkL wrote:The team was very reliant on Jordan Crawford. How can Jordan Crawford be a “young player” after he’s just played the final game of his JUNIOR season? Yeah, he’s got a bright future…maybe headed to sunny Fort Lauderdale or Daytona Beach…it’s all up to him where he wants to Spring Break!

Re: No tv Tonight?
No freaking s**t...you're delusional if you call Crawford a young player. He's a freaking Junior who just played a TON of minutes his sophomore & junior seasons. And, guess what, not that it's a surprise, but he HAS NOT IMPROVED!Rollo83 wrote:There is nothing worse than getting embarrassed and then have delusional fans come on the board and make absurd comments.MarkL wrote:The team was very reliant on Jordan Crawford. And neither did Dee Brown! Mark, you say he's improved since his freshman year, but you couldn't be more wrong. All he did was play more minutes because Orr is incapable of A) recruiting a worthwhile guard talent, and B) developing a worthwhile guard. Brown actually shot a WORSE percentage this year than he did as a freshman. His defense is, and always has been, non-existent. He's also a me-first player that shoots in bunches and doesn't make nearly a large enough percentage to be shooting as much as he does. His sophomore year was his best season and he only got worse from there.
Anybody saying Calhoun was terrible tonight just didn't watch the game. He struggled, but when he got the ball he was always surrounded by defenders and was getting swarmed. And it was pretty rare that he even got the ball because our two me first guards were perfectly content to pass it amongst themselves until one of them took a bad jump shot. And oh yeah...they both are shitty jump shooters! If Dee Brown is your leading scorer in a game you're gonna lose...he took 19 freaking shots to get his 20 lousy points. Between the two of them Crawford & Brown were 11-29 for 33 effing points. Seriously...guard play was abysmal most of the season and it was beyond abysmal tonight.
