Incredible

Post by BleedOrange »

That was easily the worst half of Falcon basketball that I've ever personally witnessed, anywhere.

Ugh.

Time to pay 'em back for the second half of the football game this year, I guess...

(Though I just got a message from my dad, who's at the game, and he says BG doesn't even deserve to be as "close" as they are. Yuck.)

Looks like a 1 seed playing a 16 seed. We're struggling just to get shot off before throwing the ball away. Toledo is so much more athletic than we are.

It's like we're not even TRYING out there. I've never seen the team so flat and unfocused. Yes, Toledo's very athletic, but we have Fitch, Soler, Wright, and Robinson. We're just mentally out of it. Completely.

Just got a full report from my dad... he said BG is 3-of-12 from the line!?!? I mean, I know they ALL don't go down, but those are the basics!!!

I was glad to hear him say the student section is pretty full. Hopefully they come/stay alive for the second half!!!

It wasn't just Falcon basketball...that was the worst half of basketball period I have ever seen. It reminded me of a junior high game but we won so I am fine with it now!!!

UT's defense was overplaying ever pass in the first half and created a ton of turnovers. I told my son about five minutes in to the game that we need to go "back door" on them to make them back off. So what was the first play of the second half, a back door cut for a layup :o Ater that, their defense was not the same. Why did it take twenty minutes to figure that out? :?

Even with a snow storm outside Anderson Arena (capacity 4700) had 4708 screaming fans in attendance. Imagine how many we can have for games in good weather.

Yowzers. As good as UT was in the first half, we were one point better than that in the second half. What a game.

Warthog ... you nailed it!

I told Freak in the first half we needed to start running an open post offense and have guys cutting to the basket. They were overplaying bigtime. I thought we could get some layups. Then, as you said, after we started getting some layups, their defense backed off. That opened up some big three balls from Reimold, Floyd, and Almanson. What amazed me was how quickly we came back (actually reminded me of how quickly they came back in the football game). I think we had cut it to 36-31 just five or six minutes into the second half.
