DD's Halftime Talk
DD's Halftime Talk
Whatever he said to the team at halftime, he should make that his pregame and halftime talk for every game.
GO BG!!!

Couldn't agree more but I think it was more than Dan. One of his quotes from the game stated this...BGSU33 wrote:Whatever he said to the team at halftime, he should make that his pregame and halftime talk for every game.
"Toledo was outstanding the first 20 mins, but we had guys in our lockerroom that would not let us quit."
That tells me the seniors probably stepped up and said we can do this, lets go or something along those lines. But hey, whatever happened went well and I love the outcome!!!

Right Dayon. It was probably unprintable. But our seniors brought us back. But we may too much of "halftime talks" and pre-game speeches. I think its 1% of real coaching and 90% of coaching in the movies and on TV. Players dug deep and found something else there, and you don't yell that into someone. Its either there or its not, and the players either willing to go get it, or he/she is not.

I agree O&B... it probably what was probably more inspiring was what was said between the players themselves. I know sometimes coach's do the yelling then storm off or walk out hoping to spur a leader to take over. No doubt Fitch's play did some major leading by example, I am sure some players had some things to say in the locker room too.
all bowling green
I would love to have been a fly on the wall to hear the talk though. I'm sure whatever it was, it was deserving and needed. The guys obviously responded no matter what was said, I bet they knew they were playing like crap more than anyone did. Getting doubled up on your home floor at halftime is about the biggest kick in the face you can experience. Blowing a lead like that is even harder to swallow. I'm glad UT was the ones who lost that big of a lead, because I would have blown a gasket had it been the other way around. Congratulations guys, it was a heck of a way to come back down 17 at halftime. Now follow it up with a road win at CMU!
GO BG!!!
Floyd just said on Fox he couldn't repeat what DD said in the locker room and then Dan said there isn't a coach in the country who would walk in the locker room, sing cum-bah-ya (spelling), and tell their players things would be alright! Classic!!!

Dayon........that's great insight into what was probably said at the half
.........I also watched the local news and Floyd just laughed when the reporter asked him what was said in the locker room and said 'I can't repeat it' Well, whatever went on in there helped, but what truly made the difference, was the effort and emotions that played out on the court in front of a full house!!!!!!!!
Always there to cheer on the Falcons.......GO BG!!!!
