Wouldn't it be interesting if? (Selection Committee Talk)

Post by Tech83 »

First. My feet are firmly planted in reality.

But.... with the success this team has had of late, wouldn't it be interesting if the selection committee decided to give this team an at-large bid. I mean.... we have knocked off a handful of ranked teams in the last two months, been on a tournament tear for the last three weeks, knock of #2 Ferris State at home and then push #3 UM to the brink and make them fight it out to double OT to get to the conference championship game. The latter I am sure contributing to UM's failure to win the yesterday's game.

But if certain fans for a certain team located in a certain SW Ohio town can go around talking about being a #1 seed in one of the four regions...... why can't I think about BG getting an at-large bid. :-D

Now I realize it would require the selection committee to be on crack, but it would be interesting.

I think it goes by a formula and based on rankings. So its not even an option. And btw, we are only 5-5 in our last 10 games, with 2 straight losses, so not entirely on fire. How about we just win the CCHA Championship in our final year. As a charter member it would be fitting that we won the last conference championship game.

Oh, please, stop using logic and reason! There will be none of that stuff here!!

How fun is it to just talk about the NCAAs and Falcon Hockey in the same sentence? On Friday, we were two games away from making it into the national tourney! In mid December, we sure weren't thinking of THAT possibility!!

Can't wait for next season to begin!!!!! :supz:

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
