I also wonder if watching his mentor Bob Lindsay be shown the door at Kent State recently played any part in Curt's decision here? Maybe he decided that no matter how much success you've had it can be fleeting. Might as well take advantage of opportunities while you have them because there are no garantees.

I believe the Lindsay situation DID have an impact on Curt's decision. A decade ago, Lindsay was one of the MAC's top coaches, winning or coming close to winning the league each year. He could've had other jobs, but chose to be a 'lifer' at Kent State. Then, the team struggled for a few years, a new AD came in, and Lindsay was shown the door. Mark Ehlen is a similar situation in that he was on top of the MAC world for a while, but didn't get to leave Toledo on his own terms. I have to believe Curt thought about these types of things when making his decision(s), not just this year but in years past when other schools came calling.

Based upon a tweet he sent out once the Lindsay situation was finally public, a part of me was thinking the same thing.

We were extremely lucky to have Curt for 11 years and when I listened to Fred Glass talk about the accomplishments of Curt and the staff and team, and to hear the round of applause that generated, I think the IU fans know what they are getting and are excited for their future. Too bad for OSU and their fans.

Note to AD Glass at IU -
You might want to check the flooring in the coaches box. It might need to be reinforced or even replace before the first home game

Maybe I am just nitpicking, but two headlines stood out to me. WTOL's website's headline said something about BGSU's girls coach leaving. I think it is ok to refer to people in high school as girls, but once they are in college it should be women. And then this morning's Blade has a small teaser on the front page that says "BGSU coach quits". While Coach Miller is leaving, I think it would be better to say he resigned or left for Indiana. I wouldn't say he quit, that sounds wrong.

Nonetheless, good luck to Coach Miller at IU.

Correct on both counts. These are, 18 - 23 year old WOMEN. Young women, perhaps, but women, and after hearing their majors and GPAs, I'm happy to say that they are very intelligent women, as well.

I like to think of Curt's position as a promotion of sorts in the grand scheme of things. Losers "quit". Professionals resign and move on.

You "mis-quoted" ME on the above comments....I maintain that Lindsay's situation was NOT a factor for Curt...rather the ONE BID situation for the MAC women, even when 3-4 teams were arguably in a position to be considered for the NCAA's. Why stay, when you can win 18-20 games at IU and make the dance? IF he can match his BG achievements, there's no telling how far he could go.
I have talked with someone close to the BG scene who said he wouldn't be surprised if Lindsay was named to Curt's staff at IU....could be interesting.

Well here's one coach that's going from Big Ten back to mid-major. Michigan HC Kevin Borseth quit today to return to Wisconsin Green Bay. From the articles I read, it appears to be his decision after his best year there (20 wins and a one and out NCAA appearance with a bubble team that was overrated). Wasn't Curt up for that job with Borseth originally?
