The page on si.com says he hasn't declared. I googled it myself, and didn't find any list that said he had declared in time.

That list includes several players who haven't declared for the NFL draft. I wouldn't put much credence in it. Crossley could use another year of college ball as inconsistent as he's been. He's going to have to get bigger and quicker if he's going to project as a speed rusher at the next level. I'd be very surprised if he's drafted.

I'm assuming they'll go ahead and move Brad Williams to DE.

Jason Babin is the kind of MAC player who plays at the next level...a beast that dominates on every play. Mitch Crossley will not be drafted, nor will he play a down in the NFL. This agent stuff is probably as a result of not being eligible in the first place.

WTF? I agree about Mitch...good, solid player. But NFL material?? No dice.

But this is bad news for our D line. I'm getting more worried about our 2005 D with each passing day. :(

Wow...this is some wonderful news to start my Monday morning with :(

Crossley is/was a good player at BG, but he is not the sort of dominator that will get highly thought of in the draft. Jonathan Goddard, to use this year for example, is about 5 times the player that Crossley is and they are talking about him in the 2nd-3rd round. If Crossley did, in fact, declare then I find it hard to believe he'll be taken at all.

If its an academic issue then I suppose I can understand, may as well go into the draft, but for any other reason this just doesn't make any sense at all.

I do know one thing. Our defense that was looking to be bad again next year just got a heckuva lot worse :(

"How many "my teams" in college do you have? Should be just one...BGSU!!!!"

Cowboyjoe. I said "teams" not "schools." BG has more than one team, we've got 16 of them.

Though I do not believe Crossley to be anywhere near NFL material after his junior year, I suspect this rumor might be true in light of the information of him having issues with his grades. I don't understand how you can still be struggling in your jr/sr years.

I agree with you kdog. Going off of what we know here on this board, I have a feeling the academic issues are pushing this decision more than anything. We had a DB about three or four years ago declare early......I'm forgetting his name now??? Anyway, we were all surprised because at first it appeared he was declaring because he felt or want to go to the NFL. However, the reality was, he was trying to get his name out there to get any kind of attention to let the league know he was available because I believe it was mostly an academic issue again.

I wish Crossley the best of luck. I wish like heck he was coming back to BG. But if he's not, I hope he can make it somewhere, somehow.
GO BG!!!
