Re: A New Assistant Coach?
Have you considered that maybe you shouldn't drop these clever hints and flaunt your 'insider' status? What if these coaches are still in the midst of deciding if they are coming to BG? Or, what if they haven't notified their current employer just yet? I hope this little message board game of 'look how connected I am' doesn't hinder Jennifer's chances of hiring any of these people.

No insider information at all........strictly from an outsider, thus the " I am hearing" opening. Good source but certainly not an insider!

If their current employer doesn't know about their being a prospective assistant coach here, then they are NOT a prospective assistant coach at BGSU.threestooges wrote:Or, what if they haven't notified their current employer just yet?
Jen, excuse me, Jennifer made quite clear in her press conference that she had some people in mind, but wanted to speak with their head coaches first, as that "is the appropriate way to handle such matters in our profession."

Yes, you are correct - that is indeed the appropriate way to handle such matters, & I watched Jennifer's press conference & was happy to hear her say that. However, do we know that the process has reached that point yet? I love to know what's going on with the women's basketball team as much as anyone else, but I would hate for Jennifer's job to be made more difficult because people are dropping hints on information that she might not be ready to make public. Maybe I'm dead wrong on this, but I'm happy to be kept in the dark until the assistants are hired if it helps Jennifer get the best people for the jobs.
Re: A New Assistant Coach?
Jennifer will get the best people to fit BG. IMO none or few of people who are being interviewed will see anything we type here. I have my ideas who I'd like to see on the bench but my opinion is just that. Jennifer has her ideas of where she is taking this program. I'm hoping others will come along with her & continue to support the entire entity. Yes we may lose players (hard to see them go to Curt) but it's still the player's life. We don't know that Curt was the sole draw. Read the article. Will Kalia still have to sit out another year for residence? DK.

Do you really think Curt would turn Kaila down? Kaila made the decision. Coaching is a cut-throat business. Curt certainly won't bad mouth BG. But we certainly will be competing for players. We will get the players who want to be at BGSU. Let's support Jennifer and the players we have.

Re: A New Assistant Coach?
College basketball recuriting is about the coach, not the school. Anyone Curt was trying to bring here for next season is not going to have interest in IU because he is now there. That is college basketball recruiting in 2012. Hulls is from Bloomington, her brother plays there, and the coach who brought her to BG is now there, no one should be shocked she is gone for those reasons (the shock will be if she has to sit out another year, that wouldn't make it worth it for me).
Curt didn't drive her to another MAC school, I much rather have her at IU then one of our 11 conference foes
