I do agree, however, with the part about the NCAA rules. I have no interest in checking because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't understand what I was reading anyway.
The only reason the NCAA Rule Book is as thick as it is, is because we have coaches.
NCAA wrote a rule that said "You can't do this" and some coach said "But it didn't say I couldn't do that" and then the NCAA wrote a subsection to the rule that said "And you can't do that either". And this went on and on.
I met an NCAA rep one time that told me the NCAA added something like 15 rules to recruiting since one individual has become a head football coach because he consistently abuses technology. So they instituted the number of times you could text a kid - one recruit had a text message when he woke up in the morning from the coach, he would get another while he was on his way to school, another when homeroom ended, encouragement before he would go in and take a test, one after the test, and it went on and on. So the NCAA wrote another subsection regarding contact with a recruit all because this coach would not leave recruits to one contact a week. "The rule never said you couldn't text a recruit" but it does now.
