A Frickers Tale...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Saturday, Mrs Freak and I braved the horrible weather conditions to slide into BG for the Hoops DH> We were supposed to go to Mileti for the pre game pizza party but didn't get into town until almost 2. So, we ended up at Frickers cuz the Freaklings have been hounding us to take them there.

Walking into the joint, I see Coaches Stud, Beckman, Bowers, Ward and Springer in the back room with a couple of recruits. We end up chatting with Stud for a couple of minutes...that dude has a very strong handshake.

The coaches start leaving and Coach Beckman comes walking out with another guy. We shake hands and Beck says "I'd like you to meet Kenny Burress". I was like, "Kenny Burress!!" Coach Beck says "Do you know who he is?"
I replied "Kenny was a member of one of the best secondaries in BG football history....the Killer B's!" Burress' face lights up and he gets a big ole smile across his face. I name off Burress, Bair, Beilinski and Brooks.
Burress was very appreciative of the remarks.

After they left, Mrs. Freak said "I think you just made that guy's day...Did you see the way his face lit up?"

The Killer B's....man, I loved that group!

From there we move on to Anderson Arena for two big wins....I love being a Falcon! Good to see Flipper, Metz, Bleeding, Dayon's Den, Warthog, BGSU 99 & 96 and Chris from Warren! Then I ran into Option and his girl on the way out! What a day!

I'll be back in town on 2/19 for hoops and hockey. BTW, received a letter today from the athletic dept that 2/19 is Falcon Football Appreciation Night at the Ice Arena for the WMU game. First 500 thru the doors get a commemorative GMAC Bowl poster and the coaches and players will be signing autographs. Very cool idea.

Great stories, Freak! I'm glad you got there and back safely on Saturday. All I could think of from halftime on of the hoops game was our two rows of blank stares at the end of the UT football game. It was great to stick one back to 'em!!! :P

Those guys were poetry in motion. Beilinsky and Brooks both seemingly floated to the ball. They didn't fly because they weren't any faster than the opposing players, but they got a good angle and bead on the ball and went for 'em.

Question: do you think they were interviewing Kenny for an asst coach position?

Hmmm....good question there. I don't know.

TG,
Yes, it was very sweet to win that game. It doesn't take all the sting outta the football loss but some of it is gone. :)

I'll mail ya some if you want!

I'm not even a big fan of their wings. I don't like breaded wings too well. My fave are BW3 Spicy Garlic, but they're so darned small. I usually get BW3 boneless wings(which are essentially small chicken tenders) in the spicy garlic sauce :) YUMMY!

Put a pack of cocktail smokies in the crock pot with some spicy garlic sauce and have a happy Saturday!

Quaker Steak & Lube.

That is all I have to say and all the wing lover needs to know. Hopefully they will be putting one out in Toledo soon. They seem to be heading in that direction.

There is a huge, new one right by my house. (maybe 2 miles away). You are all invited to watch the next BG sporting event there with me.

Great stuff! My folks know where pretty much every one of them is located in a 200 mile radius. They said at one point that they were talking about putting one up by the "Golden Triangle" in Rossford.

I was thrilled when I found out Columbus had one, but it was a bit too far out of the way to go to regularly.
