I think the constant Erger bashing is out of line...I probably shouldn't pick on Calhoun, Crawford and Black either. These aren'y professionals, they're collge kids...that's a line I used to respect...probably still should.[/quote]

I don't think I have ever seen this board get personal on a player. People question Erger's ability but I have never seen him or Calhoun personally attacked. I don't think it's wrong for people to discuss a team / players strengths and weaknesses. That's part of what you sign up for when you get that free ride and sign on for big time D1 college athletics.

This is the best board I have ever been on, as far as keeping things respectable. Look at any Big10, SEC type school's message board, it's hard to read some things they post about their own players or high school kids who don't commit to their school.

Well, it looks like we're well on our way to another ponderous, interminable, shitty thread about nothing in particular. Hopefully someone will delete this one as well.

Isnt that the point of sports discussion boards? We are not curing cancer here. Were not rocket surgeons or brain scientists.

Sadly, threads such as this one epitomizes the current state of our program. In all honestly, what do we really have to look forward to concerning our program right now? Year after year of mediocre to downright poor results has led to this. At least last year we had a new arena to discuss and a team (on paper) that was expected to be one of the better ones we had in recent years. But in the end, it was more of the same - disappointment and frustration. I just don't see any shot at us turning things around next season either. I see a finish in the bottom of the MAC East, a stagnant team offensively that still can't score, plenty of minutes for a couple of guys who shouldn't even being seeing the floor, dwindling crowds, a road game to open the MAC Tournament and likely Coach Orr's last season. Sure, there will be some excitement about Michigan State coming, but because of MSU, not BG. But aside from that, unless this team (every single one of them) as a whole makes a HUGE improvement across the board, it's going to be more of the same.

We go from being a cellar dwelling team to one of the top five in the conference and people whine.

We've got work to do to becomes top echelon team in the conference, but we are making progress.

I'm sorry, are you new here? We could have won the MAC tournament and landed the top two recruits in northern Ohio and people here would whine about why we didn't also land the third best one.

What planet are you coming from????? Planet Orr?????? Top 5 team in the conference?????? I mean optimism is optimism, but come on. I think Louis Orr might be posting under the name "transfer2BGSU". Wow. And "we got work to do to become top echelon team"??? The Egyptians had less work to do to build the pyramids than we do to be a top echelon team. Keep drinking the Orr koolaid.

We could have won that MAC Tournament, but we didn't. We could of landed the top two recruits in northern ohio, but we didn't. And even if we did, it wouldn't of mattered because we have nobody to coach them. If they want to under achieve their entire college career and have no coach that can help develop them during their college playing career, then come here and play for coach Orr and his staff. They can play next to future stars like James Erger.

Don't forget what we did in the MAC Tournament, when it really matters. Don't forget what we do outside the MAC every season, lose more than we win. We finished tied for 5th with 3 seniors and an entire starting lineup back. That's success? If you can't make an impact as coach in a league like the MAC in 5 years, then your probably not going to. No more Anderson Arena excuse. No more Dakich excuses? Just a bunch of empty orange bleachers in the end zone, and a scholarship to burn. This attitude that BG coaches deserve 10 years to do something is laughable. As laughable as an empty student section in a brand new arena.

Unless you're James Erger...then a dark cloud called Crazyfan follows you everywhere... :)
