I stand on the this is a dumb rule side. At OSU there are literally thousands of people who come to just tailgate without tickets. I bet there are more people outside the game who don't go in than actually go into BGs games. Making a BG football game an event for people who just want to hang out and be with their friends and family but maybe don't like football should be a goal.

Are all those people at OSU on University property? I've never gone to a game there...makes my skin burn to even drive by there..so I really don't know. At Michign, they tailgate everywhere all day, but not all of those tailgaters are on Univeristy property

yeah. They are the parking lots for the students and staff. I can understand how it seems odd but its standard practice.

Ohio State is also much more stringent on alcohol than BG, in general.

I think BG would be more open to people hanging around parking lots and partying during games if every game was sold out. Ohio State has no motive to try and get people into seats, they are getting 105,000 every game no matter what.

Ohio State stringent on alcohol? As long as you put it in a cup you can drink all day long. And they don't really hound those who don't. Simply tell them to pour it out.

And at BG you can play beer pong and drink from a bottle of Jack Daniels and no one will bother you.

Unless the BG campus PD is going to play "Whatcha got in that solo cup?" during the games (I have a hard time thinking they will) there doesn't sound like a huge difference between the two...

This could be one of those rules they don't really punish people for unless they are really out of hand. Good point.

It is probably around 4 hours from me to OU. I could definitely do that for a road game, especially if it is for the MAC East title.

I'd be in for a road game. Anyone heard about getting the free away game tickets for purchasing season tickets? I thought someone in the ticket office would say something / I would get something in the mail when I renewed my tickets, but never did.

OU isn't a bad trip for Dayton / Columbus folks.

Globe, you said something about going to the OU game for hoops. Maybe we could get a group and meet somewhere (Chilicothe?) and go as a group, if the East title is on the line.

I would be interested. I have a lot of OU friends down here so I would probably take a contingent and just meet people up.

I'll be heading to Athens...Already have a couple nights off from work. If all goes as we hope, that will be a BiG game.

Looks like Fla, Va Tech and UMass are the games I won't be able to make this year.

when i did my renewal over the phone the ticket office didn't say anything and i forgot, so I called back a few hours later and asked if I still get a free ticket to an away game and he said yes. He told me i could request it now or later on when the season is closer. So I am guessing you just have to call the office to request it.
