The season's getting closer....

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Roster is up:
http://bgsufalcons.com/roster.aspx?path=mhockey

Monday's article:
http://www.sent-trib.com/bgsu-sports/fa ... e-06-25-12

Favorite quote from Bergeron: "We're adding everything we want to be good at," Bergeron said. "We're adding size. We're adding speed. We're adding offense, guys who have created offense their whole careers. That's what we expect the forward group to be."

Today's article:
http://www.sent-trib.com/bgsu-sports/pl ... g-06-26-12

Favorite quote from Bergeron: "We are not going to settle for mediocre any more, whether that's a practice day, a weight room day, somebody's behavior in class, on the ice - that to us is what's changing. They're starting to live it, and believe it and police it. The results will absolutely take care of themselves. The results will take of themselves if we take care of the process."

Puck drops in 102 days!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I see that Freiberg is still on the roster, which is good.

Interesting that Hills and Mingo are listed as Sophomores. I would've thought that they would be red shirted last year.

He was recruited and enrolled last year but sat out for academic reasons.

According to the roster both Mark Cooper and Dajon mingo are both # 26.

From what I have heard, when Dajon is on the ice, you will notice him, he will be the fastest person on the ice.
Good hands, good legs, good knowledge of the game, and an attitude; sounds like my kind of guy.

Oh, I missed that. I'd guess it's a typo and Cooper is actually #25.

Can't wait for the season to start. Nice to see 20 of the 29 players listed at 6 feet or taller.

Adam Berkle participated in the Islanders' development game last night, threw his weight around a bit and played well. Glad to see some of our kids getting in good summer playing time.

Size is highly over rated, esp when coupled with LBs, unless you really like grinders. BC 2011-2012 Championship team 14 players 6' or less
2010-11 Minnesota Duluth 16 players 6' or under
2009-10 BC 16 players 6' or under
2008-2009 14 BU players 6' or under

I am firm believer you need size on the blue line, and small, quick, shifty, explosive, highly skilled guys up front. None of whom should be over 6'. The Falcons are putting 7 F on the ice that are 6' or less. I think its to few. Yet its far better than only 4, and its good to see the "big guys" are mostly under 190lbs so they are faster. Dajon is a stud, with Mingo scoring goals is like Bingo. FUN TO WATCH
