Dog, that is ONE HELL of a vertical leap. The highest vertical leap for NBA lottery candidates this year was Harrison Barnes' 38".

Are you sure you aren't making this up, old man? ;)

I outrebounded Paul Bunyan in a pick up game in the midst of the Cumberland Gap. We used a 200 lb boulder for a ball.

Yeah..they measure me at 37inches plus once...I may have taken a bunny hop and cheated a hair. :) I'm somewhere between 6-4 and 6-5. I could stand in front of the hoop, put the ball on the floor and gather and dunk with both hands. It was insanely fun to be able to do that.

Look..I don't mean to sound like a pollyanna about racial issues...I just hate hearing people bring race into sport. Growing up in the 70's... I thought it was great that being able to hoop a little allowed me to get on the playgrounds in Ottawa Park and play with people I wouldn't otherwie interact with.

Good point. I would be a little less leery of the situation if they did not just sound Kraus et. al.

Because white slow guards don't tend to show well. Its an absolute predictor. Name 1 white guard drafted in the NBA this year.
Tomas Satoransky of the Czech Republic. 2nd pick of the 2nd round. Foreign but you only asked for White.

A 40" vertical would be in the top one percent of the top one percent or something. You would have been one hell of a high jumper. I cleared 8" over my height and didn't have a vertical that good. That would put you around 7'2".

ok 6-8, but still listed as a SG, still white and still drafted.

There is an entire movie made about the fact that white men are not great jumpers. I think its called Blue Chips or the air up there or something like that.

Yes...but in the end Woody Harrelson DUNKS IT.

I never could get the hang of the high jump...But in gym class we had to dive over a couple of guys on all fours and then tuck and roll. They cut me off at six because I was landing on the wall (it was padded ) when I came out of my roll... :)

I miss being able to fly....

This white guy is 5'11". the hurdles are 6'. He's cleared 7'8". Nobody has jumped as high over their height as he.

That's insane...I jumped over a guy playing pick up football once but he was crouching so that was maybe a five foot jump and I fell when I landed. That guy cleared that like a fricking gazelle...can you imagine how cool that must feel to be able to just do that so effortlessly...

If you watch some of his jumps, his take off point is about 18" further out than a lot of guys. He just throws himself over the bar. there's a vid of him SCISSORING (going over sitting down) about 6'8". And he's actually hurdling those things, not jumping....

Got a chance to actually watch the video now. I think he will be a decent backup but his lack of athleticism will really hurt him against teams that can throw a bunch of quick guards at us like Akron and Kent. Solid undersized guard who is an excellent shooter but will turn off his teammates when he is off and keeps shooting early in the shot clock.

+
Range
Quick Release
Aggressive to the basket
Always moving on offense
Nice spin move
+/-
Ball handling
Court Vision
-
Competition
Jumping
Doesn’t follow his shot
Pulls up and shoots in transition way too much. Every time I have played with a guy like this I have hated it.
Shot selection
Team relied on him to be the offense from what I saw.

This second video shows him really scrappy on D which I really like.

I believe the movie is called "White Men Can't Jump" and someone else mentioned that Woody Harrelson is in it...which is true. :-k
