If you watch some of his jumps, his take off point is about 18" further out than a lot of guys. He just throws himself over the bar. there's a vid of him SCISSORING (going over sitting down) about 6'8". And he's actually hurdling those things, not jumping....
I sucked so badly at high jump that I wouyld usually end up trying to scissor over the bar...didn't know I was such a trend setter. I was impressed by Harvey Glance's abilty to hurdle a VW...but this guy has that beat...by a lot.

Harvey Glance...remember when sprinters actually got media coverage?

Now they have to have runoffs for third place to get mentioned.

I was a straddler and really wished I had learned to flop. At 5'10" I easily had the hops to dunk but small hands. Never learned to dunk with two hands-with a couple steps I could just balance the ball then "flip" it over real fast but going straight up that was pretty tough.

I do box jumps at 36 inches at the end of my workout but now its mostly just pulling my legs up to get there.

I used to do 20 inch box jumps with 55lbs of sand accross my back for legs...i had my left knee scoped in the spring. The surgeon told me I shouldn't do that any more. Screw that...next workout... :)

I do mine with a bar loaded with 6 45 pound plates and I do it backwards and naked.

I'd be more interested in his AAU. Valley View plays in the SWBL. Also known in Dayton as the "slow white boys league."

I think he's going to be a good player at BG. He's 38 points from breaking the school scoring record.

falcon137, Denny is a member of Ohio Red one of the very best AAU teams in Ohio/Midwest. So he is getting a lot of good competition this summer.

Denny can shoot it. Denny wants to get better/be good. Denny loves BG.

Those three things are really really important.

Go Falcons!

All Ohio Red is one of the premier AAU programs in the country, that's great news. I think this is a good pickup.

Every team needs a great outside shooter, even if he isn't a great athlete. Ryne Smith at Purdue (Toledo Whitmer) is a perfect example as is Mike Miller with the Miami Heat. There's always a place for a good shooter.

This team needs a good shooter. Especially since the last "pure shooter" is roughly 24% over 3 seasons.
