Anything else new at the Doyt this year?

Post by BGSU33 »

I know we have a new video board (can't wait to see the upgrade) and the locker room is being renovated, but does anyone know if there's anything else new or updated?

They're going to start firing midgets out of the cannon after TD's...

Dressed as falcons? That would be pretty sweet.

I would love to see them bring back live falcons, shoot off toys like fake rockets and watch the falcon attack them and devour thier innards

Actually, MANY years ago, a guy used to bring a real Falcon to games and let it fly around the stadium, then back to him....too bad we Can't do that anymore. :-k

The master plan called for sidewalk improvements around the stadium and upgrades to the stadium facade. I would think those would be completed by September.

Sidewalk work in the stadium area is coming along quite well.

I wish they would "curb" around the drive that goes around the stadium to keep people from driving and parking on the grass and making the giant mud holes. It would definitely clean up the look.

Thanks for the updates. It's nice to hear some work is being done on the sidewalks. And speaking of the sidewalks, I wish like hell they would spruce up the one the team walks on to get to the stadium on gameday. They could easily tree-line that sidewalk without breaking the bank. It's so open and bland that it isn't funny. From Mercer Road to the Stadium Walk sidewalk they now use (from the Stroh Center to Perry Stadium) we have one damn tree. Lining the Stadium Walk sidewalk with some trees would just make it look like, well, nice and anything besides what it does now - which is a sidewalk in a field. The same could be said for around the stadium, and even the track. I get we aren't going to have woods, but planting some trees along the sidewalks and around the facilities could do us some good from an appearance standpoint.

Sadly, the best way to get those sidewalks repaired...especially the loooooooong ones coming from Mercer by the Ice Arena...is to have somebody break a ankle, leg, or hip. :(

I believe they are completely replacing at least one of these.
