Flight is booked to lock in the price at $265...If I have to cancel the flight cuz I won a free one, that would be fine with me. Either way, I am Gainesville bound!

I will be in Gainesville for the game along with 5 other BG alums. We planned a week-long vacation around this game.

It sounds like we may have decent showing of Falcon fans down there! Can't wait. I'll have to hop on here when it gets closer and see if we can all meet up for a few brews before/after the game.

Any tips for Gainesville are much appreciated (bars, tailgating, etc)... roll along!

We moved our hotel, we are now staying at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center on the West side of Campus.

I am 99% sure we will be setting up our tailgate at Norman Field which is off of SW 13th Street and a decent spot as per some exchanges with the webmaster of www.gatortailgating.com. Look forward to meeting up with any Falcon fans in the area, look for the flags and stop on by.

Got the tix yesterday...Sec 44, Row 2 Seats 21-22. Looking at the seating chart, BG sidelines near the goal line...2nd row. Eh, I'll take 'em. Just get me in the stadium. Kdog, looks like you got some real decents seats in Sec 32, Row 39...could be anywhere from the goal line to the 20.

Noel,
My aunt's been living in Gainesville for at least 30 years and I'm sure she'll know where your tailgate spot is. We'll look for the flags. She's 72 and not the hearty party type but I'll definitely be downing a couple cold ones before and after the game. We're supposed to take the shuttle down to the stadium area since, according to her, the traffic is unreal. Fine with me...If I don't have to drive, that's a few more cold ones in the hot Florida sun. :)

436 hours & 15 minutes til kickoff on ESPN....GO FALCONS!

Ok well I will tentatively plan on tailgating there. Doesn't sound too hard to find. I'm getting in Friday afternoon but won't be hanging around afterwards as I have to work Sunday.

I have 1 ticket available in Sec 44, row 29, aisle seat for sale. Just got it in the mail today, and now my son is scheduled for surgery the Thursday before the game.

Paid $50 plus handling, have $60 in it, sale it to BG fan for $40 or best offer. Already lost $275 on airline ticket.

Got our tix... Sec. 36 Row 1... based on this little seat viewer looks like we'll be looking over the BG bench! (Good problem to have!)

That thing is pretty cool. Looks like we are about on the ten yard line on the Bowling Green side. Doesn't look like we will have any view restrictions there. Hope you can see over the team

Keep an eye on Hurricane Issac for your travel plans, looks like he's heading up the west coast of Florida and into the Gulf.

Could always relocate it to BG.

Or for that matter, I'll be selfish, there's a nice big stadium here in Knoxville that won't be hosting anything that day, since the Vols play a neutral site game the Friday night before. And it's not quite as far a move as taking it to BG, not to mention you wouldn't have to refund as many tickets. I'd certainly find a way to go.

Gator fan here. I just wanted to wish you all a warm welcome to Gainesville. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hopefully, Isaac will miss Gainesville and be gone by the time kickoff rolls around.

So, tell me about BGSU! I already know a little, which I've written up here: http://www.the-back-alley.com/forum/con ... University

Please, if you have anything to add or think I've gotten something wrong, let me know.

DocZaius,

Welcome to AZZ. I was wondering if any Gator Fans were going to pop their heads in. Yep looks like the huuriocane will be gone by midweek and will not alter my plans. See you in a week!

Sounds like those of us in Ohio will be dealing with the hurricane remnants next weekend. Safe travels to all those going down, especially if you are making a vacation out of it.

Welcome Doc,
Looks like you really did some homework on BG, especially in the listing of notable alums (you did miss Tim Conway and Eva Marie Saint), but even I had to look up some of the ones you'd listed.
Obviously, we're all hoping that BG gives Fla. a good game and isn't the "patsy" you mentioned at the end of your mostly complimentary bio. \:D/
