Cable and Internet service

Post by Falcon137 »

Looking for some help. I think I'm paying way to much for Time Warner. My bill for cable (1 box, HD service, DVR, and the sports tier, $6 a month) and internet is $155. This seems outrageous to me, I've had Time Warner for close to 3 years now. The fact they still don't offer the NFL Network is ridiculous.

Anyone have DirecTV? Pros / Cons. With DirecTV what kind of internet service do you use?

I have TW as well, but I don't pay that much. Then again, I have 1 box, HD, DVR, and internet for $127. Perhaps you have the ultra fast internet connection, which costs extra. Still, $127 for me seems too high.

Way too high. Somehow you must have gotten business class internet. The internet portion of my bill runs about $40.00/month, I believe.

We use DirecTV, but our internet is through Frontier phone co.

My only real issue we have with the DirecTV is that when the weather is really nasty and we want to / need to keep up with whatever the Toledo stations are reporting, we lose the signal to all our channels. I don't know if that's an issue with cable or dish as well. We lost the Viacom channels for awhile due to a price dispute between DirecTV and them, but I understand Viacom makes the rounds of most TV services, trying to jack up the price.

I know my family has DirecTV and at times with bad weather the signal gets lost. Other than that, they haven't mentioned any problems they've had with it.

I have TW and my bill is $102 a month. I have 1 box and HD with the basic internet package. BGFan is right - the basic internet is around $40 a month.

How many channels of USA Network do I need? Certainly not the three channels I receive now which play the same show.

Or of the Hallmark Channel?

Or TBS?

Or TNT?

Or A&E?

Or HGTV?

And then they took CMT off of the basic tier. No more "My Big Redneck Vacation"
