Youth football back at it

Post by Pete Segaard »

Logan is now a Freshmen team captain for the Oak Harbor Rocket football team (it still pains me to say that R word). They played their first game tonight against the Brookside Cardinals and came home with a 22-0 win for the books. Then the Freshmen get to dress and stand on the sidelines with the varsity squad on Friday nights. Finally got to see a football game. :drinkers:

Congrats to Logan on the win and being team captain.

Pete, I did notice at the scrimmage last week that Logan was lined up covering my son (who did actually wear #6) on a couple of plays. I don't think the action came their way on those plays though.

Wow, when I saw #6 I thought I read his number wrong from your PM. #6 is alot smaller than I expected. Hope you guys have fun healthy season.

#6 was a lot bigger last year when my older son wore it! He was 6' 180. Adam is just a freshman and kept #6 in the family so we wouldn't have to buy all-new numbered apparel. Adam's only about 5"8' 135.

Freshmen ended up playing the fourth quarter against Brookside Varsity tonight. Coaches rolled in the twos when they got to the 10 yard line and didn't get to punch it in. final score was 63 to 6 :supz: .

Coach Hewitt of Chardon is now 1-0 after smacking around West Geauga last night 42-12. Looks like he has a decent defense (color me shocked).

Mitch Hewitt now has his team to 3-0 on the season after taking down Maple Heights 35-20.

After the year Chardon has had, Mitch is driving some positive.
