Current bid is $205.00. Name is obscured but the position appears to be DB.

I agree. I mean $205 for a 2003? Wait a few weeks, they'll be 2004s on the market for $50 and a 6 pack.

Or wait until next fall and you could most likely get an imprint of a 2004 on you face if the owner and his buddies come to a party like this year!

I feel very sorry for the player who ends up in this position. Is there a gambling problem? Family disaster?

It's very sad.

Hammb and I were discussing this a few weeks back, not this, but the selling of rings, when the whole Troy Smith thing came up as that was a rumor too. Our conclusion was that as long as the player does not recieve more than "fair market value for the ring," then no eligibilty is likely to be lost. That is if it is even a player still on the active roster.

Yeah, this is kinda sad to see. You'd think the guys would hold onto these things for good.

It's sad that these things mean little to the players or at least some of them.

Um, do they even give out rings for division champs?

Post by ab1994 »

I would think the only official mac champ rings would be for the actual conference champs?

Does anyone know if they actually have official west-division champ rings or is this some kind of homemade memento or even a demo ring from one of them ring companies?

The ring is the real deal. Does anybody know if the rings are gifts from the MAC office or the University?

It's a genuine ring. Hartmom had Andrew's at last year's spring game and it looked like that.

Maybe it's one of the DB recruits from that year who washed out

not to start any speculation or finger pointing, but you can at least make out the bottom part of the first letter of the name on the ring. :?

It still makes me ill.

This sucks! The only thing I can think of is maybe this was lost or already purchased some other way and being resold. Maybe a dumb player gave it to a girl and they broke up and now she is selling.

On another note. Why is the stone blue? They should have picked an orange or brown stone.

Even if this ring was worth $5,000, I wouldn't sell it. I know everyone has their price, but a few hundred dollars????

Peanuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not a player selling it directly, the seller's profile has five other rings for similar titles on his/her "resume".

The "player" at this point is not in question, any potential act of wrongdoing has already been made. From my understanding of the UGA incident a few years ago, players may sell their rings as long as they do not receive "more than fair market value." The ebay poster would then be able to draw a profit from the bids.

I would be very curious to hear from any of you in a PM about who's name is theorized to be on the ring . . . I've looked at it several times and I have a guess, but it's merely a guess and I can't make out much.

FWIW, the location of the seller is 19 miles south of the Buffalo area. I don't recall having any DB from the Buffalo area, but my memory could be slipping.
