I really cannot believe we are still talking about this... If we are going to have such a strict interpretation then lets get rid of the color white as well as the logo appearing on any piece of clothing that isn't Orange or Brown. If you think BG gear is hard to get now, just wait.
Supplemental colors are necessary. If the volleyball shorts are Black, who cares? We aren't talking about that much material anyway! Also, our colors do not include pink so there goes the breast cancer awareness events! As for the specific color shades, again is it really a "make or break" in the grand scheme? I expect to see the exact shades used in all official documents from the University such as degrees and acceptance letters. I do not expect to see exact shades used in dyed material. Keep it as close as you can. The same with using supplemental colors, keep the uniforms in the spirit of the colors and it's good with me.
I am going to keep showing my BG pride with clothing that is Orange, Brown, White, Gray, and even Black if that is what it takes to advance the brand and spread BG to as many places as possible!

It is likely not the shorts he is referring to but the actual uniforms as one of the team's uniforms is all black with some white piping. My counter would be this though, the volleyball has had a black uniform since 2004 and its now just becoming in issue. It's the Journey... wrote:If the volleyball shorts are Black, who cares? BG has worn brown travel suits in the past. In fact, at one of the athletic department "garage sales" I picked up a few pair of brown sweats. They were stock with no BG logos.Class of 61 wrote:Falcon137 wrote:My gift was free. So I'm not inclined to get upset, it could have been purple for all I care.
As far as the black coaches gear etc...I'm pretty sure every coaching staff in the country has black pullovers, shorts, etc. From Roy Williams to Mack Brown. If BG came out in all black uniforms that would be over the top. But, a black pullover? Come on.
137,
Perhaps it's not the end of the world if our coaches are wearing black gear, but what about our athletic teams? Volleyball Unis have black not brown, not sure about track/cc .....IMO, either our colors are BROWN and ORANGE or they're not! I've mentioned this in past threads over the years....my son, HC of Hudson HS LAX, has told me more than once that Adidas did NOT carry BROWN as one of their "primary" colors...If indeed this is true, perhaps it's time to change to a supplier who CAN meet our needs, not to mention our colors!
As far as volleyball...maybe 18-22 year old girls prefer black spandex to orange...just sayin.
Do the people that care about colors care that SBX and the bookstore sell, purple, green, pink, blue, black, etc. t-shirts that say Bowling Green? Is grey ok?
