I thought that was you in the pictures. You look younger with a haircut, hippie.

I agree, that this team is going to show improvement this year. I honestly don't have expectations this year so, for me, it will be a good year to be a fan.

Hope you, senora Freak, and the two Freaklings are doing well, brother.

Oh what might have been with a kicker who isn't a head case (right now, for sure) and some better hands by a few receivers.

That game was there for the taking.

BG has a chance to have a very good season if they build off the positives in this game...but they have to do it.

Right now, the receiving corps looks very iffy, as does the kicking game.

Both of those will need to get fixed for a shot at the MAC title.

I think Joplin looked iffy. I thought Gallon, Stokes and Burbrink all made some very nice plays as did the TE Bayer

Joplin made some nice plays, but obviously by far overshadowed by the drops.

Overall, a couple bad plays on defense sprung for long scores and the FG issues, but we hung with Florida pretty legitimately, I thought. Like what I saw from the running game (though Samuel should be running back to BG for that unsportsmanlike flag) and there are plenty of options at WR. Next week will be a much better look at what we can really expect.

Jesse Palmer's dad played at BG? Did we know that? Hmm.

Honestly, I thought the "unsportsmanlike" call on Samuel was a bit over the top...yes, he did 2 quick and NOT complete chomp moves...but the refs need to understand the emotions of the moment too...I didn't think he was mocking the crowd, which IS deserving of a penalty...it was just a happy reaction that unfortunately put us into a bad situation on Defense as a result.

He did a "throat slash" move after the chomp... a no-doubter of a flag

Just rolled into Tampa after the game today. All in all, very proud of our effort. We hung in there all day. Early fourth quarter and it was a 3-point game.

But our special teams really hurt us and our chances at pulling this one off. By far the most disappointing was our field goal attempts....AGAIN. A 31-yarder and a 29-yarder and we get nothing. At the season ticket holder event DC raved about us going 7-7 on kicks in a scrimmage and how confident he felt in the kicking game, and today we saw more of the same. These weren't 40+ yardage. We also had a couple shanked punts and the the muffed punt return. I was also disappointed not to see any touchbacks even with the new kickoff rule after hearing how good our kickoffs have been. This unit is still a major concern.

But that said, considering who and where we were playing, my hat goes off to the offense and defense. They had some breakdowns and can improve as well, but they gave us a chance and looked good in a lot of spots. I was very pleased with their efforts. Great job.

I thought we had some great things happen on offense and defense. I can get over the drops, because the team always bounced back from them. The defense was basically a wall until two missed fg, a turnover, a muffed punt, and the heat finally brought them down
Yeah right girl!

Great effort, proud as well. Special teams killed us with the shanked punt, fumbled punt and two missed field goals. Defense was OUTSTANDING !!! Offense solid and I as really impressed on our ability to get some runs, especially when we needed short yardage!

Florida almost gave the game away with their penalties and our 15 harder hurt us bad, otherwise great job on few penalties!

If that defense shows up against Idaho and against all the MAC opponents I say we are in solid shape this year.

Defense was great, if the front 6 can play like that all year, BG will give teams fits. Our secondary played well too, although I hope to see more tighter coverage against lesser competition.

I was really impressed with the d-line. We know Chris Jones is gonna be a stud all year, but yesterday, Charlie Walker, Brian Baird, Ted Ouellet were all pretty impressive against a big SEC oline. Add to the fact Goble should be back this week it looks like we'll be pretty solid, even without Maynard.

Thought DJ Lynch and Paul Swan both had good days as well.

BooBoo struggled a bit, missed a few tackles including 1 in the hole where he was 1 on 1, that went for 6.

Don't forget Jairus Campbell. He had some nice stops after fighting off double teams on several of those stuffs up the middle. I thought both lines played really well. The oline had to improve, and it appears they have in a big way.
