Re: Idaho Game Thread
We are going to have trouble with good passing teams that have a good pass rush
Re: Idaho Game Thread
Nice to see Joplin stepping up this game
Re: Idaho Game Thread
So we just got the ball back? That was unexpected
Re: Idaho Game Thread
Joplin and Gallon played great this week.
...and yes 87Alum we should have put them away when it was 21-6. This team still lacks that killer instinct.

WR unit looks great. Great to see Joplin bounce back.
RBs are solid. Has Andre Givens played yet this year?
TE solid but somewhat invisible
OL bad.
Schilz is just average to me. I get that he does some nice things and I am not calling for him to be replaced but I am also not a huge fan.
We need to do much better defending the pass on Defense.
Boo Boo Gates has been invisible after being a stud last year. Not sure if its because of the position switch. The guy who took over his spot has had highlights so that might make sense.

Lucky to win, played like crap against an inferior opponent. Play this way next week against Toledo and it won't be a close game.

Offense just looked out of sync...Schilz seemed to get in more of a rhythm against Flordia's defense (go figure). We always seem to play down to our level of competition instead of flattening them, but a win is a win. I feel like we'll come back firing against That Team Up North.

Playbook was very vanilla. I bet Clawson opens things up next week.

When we ended up 1st and 39, I just started laughing. It was a complete joke. We should have taken a few more penalties and see how close we could get to starting in the endzone without actually starting there.
If I were the coach, this team would be running laps for hours on end for all of those stupid penalties.

Re: Idaho Game Thread
I thought Schilz played well...he made a perfect thro on the long completion to Joplin and some of the balls that Gallonmade plays on were put into spots where either Chris went up and got it or it was incomplete. The one black mark was that INT that should have been a pick six. You CANNOT float the ball to the sidelines.
I thought Idaho's QB played like Schilz from a year ago. Ate up yards between the 20's, stalled in the red zone and threw a bad INT in his own end that gave us a short field.
Waaaaay too many stupid penalties. You simly cannot have a SR OL flinching because the DL shifts..you can somewhat understand Fahn Cooper doing that, but Roussos? And we had OL getting off the ball early a time or two..you know the snap count, how is that possible?
On the plus side...Schilz seems to be getting the timing down with Gallon, Joplin showed he can bounce back and Jeron Stokes is going to be a difference maker this year...he made a great block on Samuel's run and on a couple of other plays. Gabe Martin may well kill someone on a blitz before he's done here and Chris Jones has a great chance to play on Sundays. They moved him inside and outside and he was disruptive...the NFL loves that kind of versatiltiy..

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
