Missed the first quarter, from what I saw it seemed like we would get a drive going, then shoot ourselves in the foot with stupid penalties that would stall the drive because we had so much yardage to try and get back. I agree with whoever said they should be running laps for a few hours because of that. Can't make those mistakes nex week.

Speaking of next week, I feel an offensive shootout coming, we struggled against the pass last night, Toledo gave up 500 plus yards for the second week in a ago. That said it'll probably be like a 10-7 final

Flipper wrote:I thought Schilz played well...he made a perfect thro on the long completion to Joplin and some of the balls that Gallonmade plays on were put into spots where either Chris went up and got it or it was incomplete. The one black mark was that INT that should have been a pick six. You CANNOT float the ball to the sidelines.

I thought Idaho's QB played like Schilz from a year ago. Ate up yards between the 20's, stalled in the red zone and threw a bad INT in his own end that gave us a short field.

Waaaaay too many stupid penalties. You simly cannot have a SR OL flinching because the DL shifts..you can somewhat understand Fahn Cooper doing that, but Roussos? And we had OL getting off the ball early a time or two..you know the snap count, how is that possible?

On the plus side...Schilz seems to be getting the timing down with Gallon, Joplin showed he can bounce back and Jeron Stokes is going to be a difference maker this year...he made a great block on Samuel's run and on a couple of other plays. Gabe Martin may well kill someone on a blitz before he's done here and Chris Jones has a great chance to play on Sundays. They moved him inside and outside and he was disruptive...the NFL loves that kind of versatiltiy.. :)
The versatility of the WR unit is as good as it has been since the 03-05 years IMO. Just throw it up to Gallon, and he will go up and make a play with his size. As evidence from the touchdown we need to get Stokes in positions where he can do something after the catch. Looks like he has that speed that this team desperately needs. This was exactly the type of game Joplin needed after last week.

Look great in week one with the penalties and awful in week two AT HOME. Go figure.

Their QB was extrememly accurate. Other than the interception I don't think he missed on a pass. Defense did a good job shutting them down and coming up with TFL's and sacks when needed.

As MarkL said I hope we were showing as little as possible. We are way too predictable on the short stuff. You can usually tell when we are going to snap ball and when we are likely to run. Hopefully Schilz learns from that pick. I thought Florida was going grab one of those shorts ones last week and take it to the house.

Wish we could have tried a FG for the new kicker to get that out of the way. His extra points didn't give me a lot of confidence...weren't very high and not down the middle by any means. I thought he had missed one of them. I don't think we are out of the woods here by any means.

Other options are Anthony Farinella and Matt Oczypok...somebody needs to step up and take the job by the talons.

I think hos point was if it barely gets through on the extra point, then he isn't real comfortable with kid being placed in anything but the absolute easiest situation.
