First, thanks to the BG fans on here this past week that talked smack back to me. It was fun and I enjoyed the laughs.
Next, I know you guys are upset about the mistakes but I obviously think highly of my Rockets, so I think you guys played very well, particularly on defense. I honestly was impressed with your defense but understand the concerns with the offense. But, I still have some concerns with our offense but hope they just get better each game of the season. FWIW, I'd take your RB Samuels any day.
A lot of people are saying that the Marshall game today was the toughest game on OU's schedule, so they should be making a pretty good/easy run through the end of the season. I expect your team to have something big to say about that and I hope that we get to meet again this year in the MACC game. To me, that would be pretty sweet.
I have a lot of smack that I'd like to talk but not going to do that. Instead, I hope to get to save it for the week before the MACC game. Good luck to your team from here on out.
Oh, and thanks to the mods for granting me access when I applied during the week of this game.
Game
Re: Game
BG appears to be Ohio's lone challenge before the end of the season besides maybe Buffalo, even with how bad we played today. It'd be nice if we were the tie breaker that knocked them out of the MACC and got to face Toledo, but until we find some consistency I feel like it's going to be a toss-up for most of every game from now on. Especially with the way the kicking (sans punting) is going. Still, it's not impossible.
It's still early and we're STILL young. I'm not ready to say the sky is falling yet, but then again, I've been forged in the darkness of being a faithful Cleveland sports fan so what do I know. Weirder things have happened, so we'll see how it goes.
On a more positive note, I really like having the rivalry game earlier in the season. Can't wait to see it in BG next year.

I don't think you're OC knew that our pass coverage wasn't very good...until it was too late

Re: Game
The one thing our QB does really well is throw the ball downfield. Why are we not letting him do that?
I think we had a very hard time dealing with the "fastball" offense from UT. When we were able to slow it down a bit the defense was much more effective. That seems like a game prep issue.
Lots of cognitive dissonance seeing Stan Joplin ambling along at the Glass Bowl in a BGSU shirt. Does that jump shot against Iowa still count?

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
