Freakin eh...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Yeah today sucks. LOL. Doing crap around the house but at least its a beautiful day outside. Despite the loss, we had a great time yesterday. I'm concerned about the lack of intensity that crept up the last night. I mean I saw that team run outta the tunnel at the Swamp laser focused and ready to go. I didn't see that last night. I didn't see an urgency on the sidelines most of the night. Yeah, we have major issues in the kicking game that MUST get ironed out. We are leaving too many points on the field and it's costing us games. But my real concern, right now, is the lack of intensity. We have to get that swagger back we had in Gville. Next week is gonna me tough...Va Tech got spanked by Pitt, of all teams, and will be pissed off.

The bright side? We can still win the East and get to the title game. I hate freakin losing to tsun...hate it. But I'll give them credit. Last night they played to win while I'm not sure BG was doing the same most of the night. They are a decent team...nothin spectacular but a good club.

Here's hoping we get another shot at them in Detroit but we need to seriously get some things in order for that to happen. I know it can happen...saw in in Gville and for much of the Idaho game.

GO FALCONS!!!

I'll be surprised if this team is able to win the East. I think the best we can hope for is enough wins to get bowl eligible...and that won't be a slam dunk. Nothing with this team is.

It just amazes me that this coaching staff can't find one reliable kicker.

Who knows. BG left 8 points on the field yesterday. At this point anything outside of extra point range is rolling the dice and even that could be a struggle.

I told the people who went to the game with me they should just go the high school route. Go for it on 4th down inside the 40 and go for 2 every time.

Offense and defense is good enough to play with and beat teams like Toledo and Ohio, etc...but when you have absolutely no kicking game, you're not going to beat them. BG's special teams in general have been negated this year. Has Boo Boo had 1 decent return? With the ball moved to the 35 he's barely had any opportunities.

I don't know what you do, keep running him out there and see if he gets better? Frustrating. Finally a team with the athleticism and talent to win this conference and the kicking game could hold them back.

Freak: If the team lacked intensity yesterday, I agree, that's a major concern. The other stuff can be worked out, but if your team lacks intensity, especially against its biggest rival, that's frightening. How fired up are they going to be fore EMU or Buffalo?

Lack of intensity is inexcusable.

John Gibson made the same observation about the intensity last night on the post game show and put it squarely on the shoulders of the coaches and team leadership. Being in the seats, it didn't feel like a normal UT/BG game, maybe it was because of it being played early. But, to not be fired up against your rival is simply unacceptable and is something that needs to corrected immediately.

The entire crowd seemed less than jacked up at times, including the Rocket faithful. Folks around me were pretty wild but a lot of the coaches families and players families are there. The student section had its moments but unless the teams were in the Red Zone there was a lot of quiet.

That's the way it seemed...it is your biggest rival and the Falcons seemed to be aloof at times. Gibby is right to put the blame on the staff and leadership. Where was that team from the Swamp?? Effin eh where they pumped that day.

I really thought we seemed flat too. Didn't realize Gibby agreed.

I really, really hope some of the players aren't tuning out the coaches or not buying into the system anymore.
