But I do think it is totally ridiculous that NCAA hockey barely has any pre-season sanctioned practice.
First allowed practice - Oct 6...First game - Oct 6!
Seriously, does ANY other sport have that kind of restriction????
PUCK DROPS IN 22 DAYS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

That must have been some sort of misprint/flat out error. I found this article: http://www.miningjournal.net/page/conte ... l?nav=5010 linked on the CCHA website that clearly shows that isn't the case. There's also an article about Alaska starting full official practices this week.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

You are correct. Not sure what Northern is doing, but they are under the SAME rules as us. Full, official (with coaches) practices are allowed on October 6th. I double checked this with the coach after I saw that pic of Northern's team.
TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!!

I believe the UP uses the ancient Druid calendar. What they call October 6 falls on the day the rest of the civilized world calls September 18 or 19, depending on leap year. I'm certain this must be true, as I read it on the internet.
