If you refuse to extrapolate from one quarter of a season to conclude that the results will only get worse, then you are in the wrong place. It's etched in stone, per doctrine. Best of luck if you hang around.
The reality is that I am just losing interest. I was a pretty big fan. And now I just don't have any expectations. I remember going to Gameday in 2003 and thinking that that was what it would be like. NOT OSU level but some exposure on a national scene and a growing program. A really fun event to go to and great football to watch. If things keep going this way by the end of the year I will forget games are even on.
We're where I thought we'd be record wise...I'm concerned because I thought we'd look better doing it, particularly on offense. That and our defense is getting banged up a bit.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

There's a big difference between a good 1-3 team and a bad one. BG is not a good one right now.

I feel the same way right now as I did during Brandon's last year as coach. Apathy for me is setting in because I'm not seeing anything change. Clawson wants the students to show up this week for Homecoming, but the reality is they only will if we field a competitive team. I think a slim majority of the alumni hold that same feeling. The fan base and students were invigorated by the Florida game, and now we're right back to that terrible feeling everyone had during the 2-10 season.
I'm in show me mode. Show me something different because right now, paying $10 to park and $15 for a ticket isn't worth it to watch the product on the field.

Yeah, replacing all of the receivers has been more difficult than expected. I can't help but think one of the guys last year would have converted the pass to Stokes against Virginia Tech into a TD. And the defensive line is getting thin.

That's a valid point. Unfortunately the new WRs have not stepped up as of yet. No doubt in my mind they are talented but I thought they would be farther along at this point of the season. We GOTTA be able to run the ball more. We have to....

Gallon has all the talent in the world, and for a freshman he is doing great. However he is raw, very raw. As he develops I think he can surpass Steve Sanders, and that is a real accomplishment.

133 yards for a 5.1 ave against va tech isnt an indicator of "can't".

And this is something that is nagging me. Clawson said Matt Schilz has developed a ton in the offseason in knowing when to throw it away. He has before taken risky throws under pressure. Sometimes he made big plays in previous years but in other cases he turned it over. This year he seems to take far fewer risks, and in turn the pass offense is bland. There is a balance to strike in taking risks and Matt is currently far on the safe side. I'd rather him take more risks personally. Johnson came in yesterday and looked like a seasoned veteran in picking good receivers and was a Gallon drop from his first career TD. His height led to some tipped passes unfortunately. Even though Schilz is the veteran I prefer Johnson's play yesterday. We've not seen enough of Johnson, though, to adequately assess his potential at QB.

I have seen enough from the 25 starts from Schilz that he is not the player we were hoping he would turn out to be. I had high expectations for him early in his Freshmen year. Last year I think his numbers were greatly influenced by the first 4 games of the season. After that his numbers were below average. This year his goal was to cut down on interceptions. Yeah that's great if you throw the same amount or more touchdowns and you complete a higher amount of your passes.
This offense is a disaster everywhere. The QB makes a great pass and the receiver drops it or the receiver is wide open and the QB misses him. We can't complete plays.
Perhaps Johnson can provide a spark, it can't get much worse than the 16 quarters I have watched.
Beautiful campus and area with great fans. The tailgate was about the only enjoyable part. Defense got worn down, Schilz missed throw after throw, kicking game left points on the field again, special teams had penalties. Just a horribly frustrating day.
As far as Johnson....he started 3-3 and finished 5-17. I'm not ready to throw Schilz to the wayside quite yet. The overthrow to Stokes was awful, the wind was blowing about 20 mph at his back, but, given where he practices everyday you would think he would be to make that play.
