Agreed 137.

Western VA is beautiful. Stunning. Blacksburg is really a gem. I'd heard before that VT fans are very polite all around, and I think the better word may be cordial. VT is rare. Big name program, class act fans, coach that has been around forever, and a true class act coach. Beamer is one of the best in the business. He's a VT alum IIRC and VT is the only place he would like to be. He runs a program that wins 10+ each and every year but never bends on the program's ethics. I have a ton of respect for Frank Beamer.

Schilz was 9/25, 87 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT. I have to wonder how many of the drops could have converted into drastically positive plays. There were probably at least 6 of those incompletes that should have been caught, if not more. So, he was 15/25 for 150ish yards. Perhaps even a touchdown? I think we keep forgetting that we lost all of our main receivers from last year.

Touchdown? The only drive Schilz led that had a chance for a TD was the one where he threw it through the endzone to Stokes, who was open by 25 yards. I honestly don't remember any horrible drops...well Joplin dropped one, but I just expect that now.

I'll say this in Schilz's defense he was under lots of pressure and his receivers, in general, weren't running around wide open. However, the chances he did have to make plays, he didn't do it.

That's what was so frustrating about that loss and the passing game in general right now. You can't point to one play or position as the problem. The offensive line was bad, the receivers don't consistently get open and have dropped lots of balls, and the quarterbacks miss chances when people do get open.

New OC, definetly. I am so tired of this refusal to make any attempt whatsoever to create a down field passing game!

HC, I'm starting to lean that way. I felt he missed an obvious oppurtunity to get our FG kicker(s) some confidence by hitting a couple chip shot field goals...but instead he goes for it on 4th down with lousy play calls in a game we weren't going to win anyway.

I've been very dissappointed this year. I'll be honest, I was looking forward to the season, especially after the Florida game. Thought was stayed in the game, and if we make a couple field goals, the outcome could have been a little different. Thought the play calling was very simple and basic. After the Idaho game, I kind of thought the same. Play calling was very simple and basic. I honestly thought they were waiting to open the playbook up for Toledo. If I was the AD, it would be a simple decision. Clawson is not the coach to get the job done. He is over his head.

I love that you take an entire post complaining and pick out one post. Brilliant stuff.
