Re: Sinisa Vrvilo
Sinisia was money his first year..not so much his second. Suisham caught his share of grief here too... I think BGSU PK's get better in retrospect.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Since you mention it Flipper:
Career fieldgoal stats from 2000-2011. Turano and Knapp's stats are just from the 2000 season. Maybe it will help add a little perspective to the whole discussion.
Kicker Seasons FG's FG%
Knapp 2000 10-18 55%
Turano 2000 0-2 0%
Suisham 2001-2004 45-66 68%
Timchenko 2004-2005 5-7 71%
Fry 2005 1-3 33%
Ellis 2006 4-9 44%
Vrvilo 2007-2008 24-35 68%
Phillips 2009 8-13 61%
Wright 2010 4-9 44%
Burkhardt 2010-2011 2-6 33%
Stein 2011 8-11 72%
I remember not being impressed by Phillips at the time, but he got buried behind everyone else after hitting 61% of his fg attempts and 17-17 on extra points? At this point, I'd take it. Also not sure why we lost faith in Timchenko so quickly. Maybe his 2 misses were early on, so that's when they gave Fry a chance? Last year, Stein was the most accurate of anyone on the list. Of course that's a small sample compared to Suisham who kicked for 4 seasons and doesn't include the disaster of a start this year. Almost all of those guys had at least one relatively disappointing season. Suisham's first year he went 3-8. Vrvilo was 9-16 in 2008.

Re: Sinisa Vrvilo
Ah, Timshanko. I think he missed his FGs in a couple crucial games which is why his misses were magnified. Pretty gruesome stats overall though in that list.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
