Fascinating bit on NPR today about his efforts to amend the Wikipedia information on the the Haymarket incident in Chicago. While the history was very interesting as well, he tells a great story about a student asking the right question that sent him off on a quest to discover the true story rather than accepting the version he thought he knew and had been teaching. Takes some balls to admit he hadn't thought of that before and even more, apparently, to take on the Wikipedia folks who repeatedly shot down his amendments (within minutes, as he tells it) in spite of much of the material coming from actual trial transcripts.
Check out his name on the Wikipedia site- I lost the link and don't have time to go get it but HIS story on Wikipedia is ALSO about his struggles with Wikipedia. Anybody have him for class? He sounded like a very cool guy.
