Union on Friday...
Union on Friday...
Falcons off to a hot start tonight leading 2-0, but now about halfway through the 3rd it's 5-2 Union.

Couldn't buy a penalty kill, and the guys just looked lazy after it got tied up at 2.

Positive in the stands: 2200+ for home opener is the biggest I can remember in recent memory. Usually floats around 1500...

I've been telling Mrs. BG84 for a couple years that Hammond shouldn't play the puck so much because he's not very good at it
. Siggy, yes. Hammy, no. I think tonight was the first time I've seen another team make him pay for a puck-handling mistake, though. Where were his defensemen?
Union: 3 PPG, 2 SHG - both on the same PP. Special teams, anyone?
Union played like a team that has eight skaters. I haven't figured out how teams do that. Perfect positioning? The Dutchmen were pretty fast, too.
The good: non-league game; scored 3 goals
, on a goalie with a very good reputation; scored a PPG
; a couple of freshmen played their first games.
When we went up 2-0, my brain said it wouldn't last, but the fan in me jumped to a shutout win! Then, over the next few weeks, there'd be writers sayin, "Hey, how about those Falcons!" Then BG would enter the polls and slowly climb toward the top.
What a story!

Since these boards were installed, every time the puck comes through there it bounces to the front of the net. Every single time. I can understand the freshmen are still learning this, but the sophomores, juniors and seniors should all know this by now.BG84 wrote:I've been telling Mrs. BG84 for a couple years that Hammond shouldn't play the puck so much because he's not very good at it. IIRC, Al Montoya learned that the hard way too.pdt1081 wrote:Since these boards were installed, every time the puck comes through there it bounces to the front of the net. Every single time.
