wow. Didn't realize that. I figured they had the same scenario as us with ten days off in between. We got to take care of business the next 2 weeks!

I am hoping lots of students from the Northwest can make it down to Athens! It is our blackout game and should be rocking, especially if Cats are 9-0!!!

Well that just clinches it...BGSU is going to win.

Seriously, whenever college football teams do "blackouts", especially when black isn't even one of their primary colors, they don't typically win. University of Georgia tried this at one of their games against Alabama several years ago and they were down 31-0 by the half.

EDIT: Arizona State just did a blackout last night...and got clobbered by Oregon.

If I have to choose between BG winning and OU going to the BCS I choose OU BCS. I know I am the minority on that but it seems more important IMO. Plus don't we share in the millions?

Not sure what the current rules are on how high they have to be ranked but I don't see them ever being that highly ranked. We haven't won a MAC championship in 20 years, I care about that.

Not only do we have 10 days between the Eastern Michigan game (Oct. 27) and the Ohio game (Nov. 7); but also working in our favor is the fact that Ohio hosts Eastern on Nov. 1 so they have less than a week to prepare/get well for the match up.
Also to add...after the OU game on the 7th, we will have 10 days until hosting Kent State on 11/17. :D

Just take care of biz the Saturday and against EMU...

I would rather be ranked during a mediocre year than to not be ranked during a so called down year!

I'd rather call my head coach a cab than let him drive home on margarita night.

Essentially, Ohio would need to be ranked in the top 12 in the BCS rankings. They currently are not inside the top 25, and nobody left on their schedule is going to convince the human polls or the computers to rank them anywhere near the top 12, unless a bunch of high ranked teams start losing. The main qualifications are that if you are a non-AQ school in the top 12, and you are the highest ranked non-AQ school, you automatically get a berth. Or, if you are in the top 16, the top ranked non-AQ school, and you are ranked higher than a conference champion from an AQ conference, then you automatically get a berth. Outiside of that, your only hope is for an at-large bid, which means you need to have 9+ wins and be ranked in the top 14, or hope that there aren't enough schools with that criteria that they must expand to the top 18.

Basically, the only way a MAC school makes the BCS is to play all four non-conference games against total beast opponents, slap them around in those games, destroy every MAC opponent, and hope at least one big conference has a down year. If OU goes 13-0 this season, they may get inside the top 20 of the BCS if they're lucky, which means they are guaranteed to play in the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl, and that's it. It's the sad truth of the BCS bullpoopy.

Disagree. The only way to make it is to have the top teams lose. I will be rooting for it to happen. Then they are forced to rank you higher.
