Zywotek to Findlay wouldn't surprise me, b/c as the D-2 Defensive POY he appears on none of the online services and you would think one of them would have something. Anyway, I remembered him being mentioned awhile ago and the talk that we had 20 verbals, on my list, he made sense.

The great thing is that they have Rhett Magner as the #87 CB in the country. Its always great to see a guy rated in the top 100 coming to BG.

Hopefully he will stay a CB and not a WR.

No problem, just trying to help pass on information. :D

Is TE Micheal Reams from Bluffton?

Pollard is another one of those "sources close to the team told me" he verballed. Mathematically it makes sense, but it has yet to be confirmed online or in print.

Very nice work there. Very nice.

It helps a lot. For instance, I thought all this stuff about Baby Ice Magner was just stuff some of us were hearing out on the street. I didn't realize recruiting services had picked up on it.

Excellent work. Thank you!

It seems absolutely impossible to me to figure out how a kid who plays high school football in Alaska measures up to the rest of the country.

It's a different world up there. They only have like 20 programs in the whole state.

Natch, that's not a knock on Magner... his brother was a steal for us.

But, to me, the fact that someone is saying Magner is a Top 100 anything underscores the absurdity of these lists. Magner may very well be -- or not -- but boy does it take cahones for anyone to presume they know.

No doubt Schad. I'd doubt very seriously if they have ever seen the kid play, or even film of him. More likely they saw his size/athleticism & looked at his brother. They then assumed that he must be pretty good.

Recruiting rankings are a total joke, to me. What I look at is how many offers a kid has and who they're from. If the kid is getting offers from BCS schools then he must be pretty good. If he's not, then its obvious those schools don't think he can stand up to their level of competition. Even that is not an exact science, as sometimes a kid will be overlooked, or thought to be a "tweener" based on his size or something. Then of course you have the whole deal of the knowledge of the offers is only what the recruit tells the recruiting services, and its obviously in their best interest to lie, if they want a better offer down the road.

Following recruiting has got to be about the most difficult thing to get a good bead on, ESPECIALLY at the MAC level.

I wonder if Bullock isn't going to be a LB. It looks like we recruited him to be a RB, but wouldn't a 6'-2" 220 pound LB with 4.5 speed look good in the orange and brown?
