End of 1st down 0-3. Didn't look good...gave up ANOTHER shorty.
Cooper scores!! 1-3
They score again 1-4
Carpenter scores!! 2-4
END OF 2ND! Much better 2nd period!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

Is there any particular reason why a 2 goal lead is harder to hold than a 1 goal lead? It sounds counterintuitive.
Maybe because when you have 2 goals, you think you can allow one and it won't matter and then it gives the other team momentum to get the tying goal. When you have a one goal lead, you know they cannot score, so you will probably play better D. That is just my guess.

Because it's easy to let your guard down. If you're not all pulling in the same direction then you can't all give 110%. Basically you only get out of it what you put in to it.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

of course its impossible to give up a two goal lead without also giving up a one goal lead
