Actually, yes we were. I believe we were there the last year of the blackney era of football. Our team ended up being really bad..(Like two or three wins). I vividly remember sitting there yelling "Run up the middle"... since that was the only play ever called within the red zone.
Later.

You believe wrong. The band has never sat on the South end of the East seats. They have sat in the North end on the East side though. I remember my bro complaining about those seats all the time though because it was before the lights. All the games were in the day and they had to sit in and look at the sun the entire game!Bassdrummin wrote: Actually, yes we were. No - I am pretty sure they were there for a season. I've seen pictures of them there.
BUT - if they moved us like a section to the right, we'd be closer to the visiting team, but in MAC compliance with where the band can sit. Better than Miami, cause we'd follow the rules, but sneaky as hell.

Post them and prove it if they are from the 2000 season...Shakeatailfeather04 wrote:We definitely did sit in that spot in the stadium, for at least one year. We sat there during the '00 season, and I have pictures to prove it![]()

altimers...
Blame it on old age but I, too, believe we were there... and when Blackney was here that sounds about right.
But I do know thats where the band sat during the Las Vegas Bowl...
and I know this isn't the thread... but please notice how many RESERVED BGSU FAN seats are on the East side... *ahem*

Go Faccons!
I think 1998 was really before you started taking me to ALL the games dad. And if I was there, I was probably begging you to go get me food instead of watching the game or paying attention to seating! Watching Gary Blackney football never did excite me...Ornithologist wrote:I just talked to Metz's older but smaller brother. He said the band was on the east side at the south end during the 1998 season, the year Olfert was the director. They were also on the east side at the north end in 2000.

Metzger begging for food??McMetz811 wrote:I was probably begging you to go get me food instead of watching the game or paying attention to seating!
Oh, and to weigh in on the thread topic, I don't know and have no ID if the band ever sat on the east side. However with all of the alums saying something to the fact that they did, I am inclined to think that they did.
Now if you excuse me, I am going to go run and hide from Metzger

I can't post the pics b/c they're regular ol' prints and I don't have a scanner. I guess I shouldn't have used those as "evidence" but I really didn't think anyone would call me out about something like this.
After all, I was IN the band that year and I can promise you, we sat right by the visiting fans.

I wasn't really calling you out, just kidding with ya! I'm a very sarcastic person...you'll have to get used to itShakeatailfeather04 wrote:I guess I shouldn't have used those as "evidence" but I really didn't think anyone would call me out about something like this.
