I love our defense! Exciting to watch these guys. Makes life easy on the offense, allows them to be conservative.

Wow a waste of a 1 min 30 sec on offense ...I wonder if Johnson gets a drive if schilz continues to look clueless...

Quick halftime thoughts ...

EMU has lit up the scoreboard the last two weeks, and our defense is holding them to three points at halftime. Our D is DOMINANT!
Offense is calling it pretty conservative. Anyone else besides me think that our O is calling it simple because they don't need to be complicated to win? Clawson said in press conference last week that the offense was called to be conservative last week because anything more was unnecessary.
Matt is not playing great but is managing the game OK. At least three of his incompletions are throw-aways.
We showed OU that we're willing to do trick plays, but other than that we're not showing them much on offense. I like that. With how our D is playing, we should be in good shape, so Clawson can be thinking right now about showing or not showing anything to Solich.
And again ... defense is DOMINANT! These guys are so exciting to watch! Love the direction our football program is headed.

Observations from the 1st half:
- Defense is strong again. Facing an offense that's put up 95 points over the last 2 games and we've held them to 3 in a half. If they continue to shut down the EMU run, they will eventually force them to go with nothing but passing and the young QB might make some mistakes that result in turnovers.

- Very disappointing we didn't get points off that turnover. Not doing so keeps EMU in the game. Has Stein made a single kick from the left hash? He always seem to hook them when kicking across his body. I would suggest they have Tate kick when the ball is on the left hash and Stein kick when it's on the right hash. In the middle? Flip a coin. Why not, nothing else has worked for the kicking game this year.

- The offense really needs to get it together this 2nd half. They have spit and sputtered and not been able to put together consistent, sustained drives, going back much further than just this first half. As good as our defense is, we are not going to beat OU and Kent unless this offense can get in sync and not put all the pressure on the D.

I'm not going to sugarcoat the offense because they looked bad for most of the first half. Playing it conservative? The season is 2/3 over, I don't buy that because we have been seeing this same game plan since Idaho.

Defense continues to carry this team which is fine with me while we are winning.

That penalty hurt ... offense was moving fine until then. Penalties kill momentum.

The D looks stout as they have all season. Running game looks good too. Passing hasn't been terrible, but I think some of these penalties are making the passing game look a lot worse than it is right now.

I guess if the offense won't score, the defense will have to do it for them.
