I was checking out Bobcat Attack and found this discussion. They look ahead to playing a ranked Kent team and facing either NIU or Toledo down the road. I love being underestimated. Really looking forward to the game in Athens. Look out Bobcats, the Falcon defense is coming to Peden Stadium,

The fact that they can overlook anybody after they just got beat by Miami is baffling to me.

The fans can do whatever they want. I doubt the coaches and players will be overlooking a 6-3 team on a 5 game winning streak.

I'm quite sure we have Frank's attention. In looking at our 3 common opponents: Akron, Umass and Miami. OU went 94-82 and we went 85-22. While our offense has been frustrating at times this season I'd like to think it's better than Akron and Umass and at least as good as Miami. This defense is playing with confidence and flying to the ball and I think they now expect to have a takeaway in every game that results in touchdown. The speed on defense I saw yesterday was nothing short of impressive. That is a group of talented athletes, and if this offense can establish the run, manage the clock, make a few pass plays and protect the football I think the Bobcats will have all they can handle in 10 days. And remember, while the Falcon's rest and prepare for 10 days they have a game this Saturday and then have only 3 days to prepare for BG. It's already clear they are banged up on both sides of the ball so that schedule certainly plays in our favor.

I fully expect BG to beat OU. The confidence of this team is sky high right now.

EMU is at Ohio this Thursday so they do have a short week but only by 1 day between their games against EMU and BG. But I agree, we can certainly beat Ohio. A mobile Tettleton is a factor we have not had to deal with that much during this run. Dysert can run but not like a healthy Tettleton IMO.

I think the biggest factor in the formula you laid out is not turning the ball over, and say what you want about the BG offense, they have collectively done a great job of protecting the football in the past 5 games.bg1984 wrote:I'm quite sure we have Frank's attention. Yes bgsufalcon24, I dropped the ball on posting about the schedule. I forgot that EMU game was this Thursday. Thanks! I agree that we have REALLY improved in the area of protecting the football and as I have heard coach say that is a result of having such an outstanding defense. Schilz no longer has to force the ball and IMHO he has made much better decisions with the football this year. That factor and the running game are two bright spots in that offense. And we still must have a play or two up our sleeves. Let's not forget the bit of "trickeration" that led to Joplin being wide open on that pass from Hopgood. That was fun and I expect we will see one "trick" play in each the OU and Kent game. We do have play makers on that side of the ball.

Unless our team shows up carrying a keg I'm not sure we have Frank's attention.bg1984 wrote:I'm quite sure we have Frank's attention.
