The painful 11+ hour ride home from BG was one, long reminder that we're in for a very difficult few days here on the East Coast.
We passed about 100 - no kidding - utility trucks along I-80 and I-76, from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, etc. all heading east. Sandy is trying to lull us into a false sense of security today, just some blustery showers.
Looks like she will unleash hell starting tomorrow and we'll all have to hunker down for at least a few days before we can assess the damage and fallout.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all those fellow East Coasters and those in Sandy's path.

I live just NW of DC. Wind has really died down as has the rain. I think flooding is the main issue now. I never lost power so I'm considering heading in to work. Hope they didn't lose power.

After a great weekend in BG for football and hockey, we drove to Cleveland for the Browns game on Sunday. I took my 80 year old mother to the game for her birthday, and it was my 8 year old son's first game. What a misrable day, except for the final score. All of us between 8 and 80 made it to the end but barely.
We are getting wind and snow this morning in Columbus from the storm, but our thoughts are with those on the East Coast.

FWIW,
My sump pumps are still attempting to pump out the 4" of water in our basement, caused by a power failure in Sagamore Hills. I had a hard time starting the portable generator, but it would have made little difference as the rain is still falling here and the pumps can't keep up.
