A Kent loss puts BG in the driver's seat. They would just need to beat OU and Kent to win the East, making the Buffalo game essentially meaningless. This has big implications if Akron wins.

Akron was also up on us by 10...and then our guys woke up. Akron has been waiting for a breakout win, and this is a rivalry. It would be awesome to see them beat Kent, and would put BG in a position to win the East outright.

Kent gets a TD, 24-21 Akron. Kent came out running the ball and Akron had no answer.

Figured it was too good to be true. Kent now leads 28-24.

This is a replay of the BG game. Akron can't sustain anything in the second half.

KSU scores another one late in the game after stopping AU on a short yardage play....35-24 final.

Just a personal observation...if we've ever been critical of Dave Clausen and clock management, you should've seen Akron, both at the end of the 1st half, not to mention late in the game with still a chance to go ahead. [-(

Considering the experienced staff that Akron has, I found this rather poor...no wonder they've got the record that they've "compiled". Bowden, Amato etc. seemed lost at times, both in playcalls and use of clock...and wasting a valuable timeout when they obviously had been stopped short was silly IMO.

That's fine. I want us to earn our way into the MAC championship, not it be given to us. One game at a time.

Well, watching Ohio and Kent play this week seems to give us confidence that we can play with either one. Pressure is an equalizer and both OU and Kent may be feeling the pressure of a "must win" situation. I think both games could go either way.

With Buffalo beating Miami today, that game won't be easy either.

No matter what, the next three weeks should be fun.

I've never been critical of Dave Clausen...now, Dave Clawson, yeah, I've been critical every once in a while. :-D

At any rate, I agree with ya Den. Akron had chances and really messed up...

If anybody is ever critical of Clawson in terms of time management, I have one thing to say to you.

Kent State 2009.
