I wouldn't even give us that much credit right now. I worked at the University of Findlay for a year and I've never heard a crowd as loud as they were for one of our men's basketball games (Granted that was their national championship season). The fans are just disenchanted with the direction of the program and if we want a winning season anytime in the next couple of years we need a pretty drastic change.jpfalcon09 wrote:Its watching a college basketball game in a Division II gym setting.
One winning season in the last 7 years and headed for 8!

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

How does Lamonta Stone still have a job? This is like his 11th season on staff, and frankly most of the worst, most unwatchable seasons in BGSU history. Craziest part is when people on here were calling for him to get the head coaching job when Dakich left. Now if Greg Christopher would wake up and do anything other than beg for money, maybe he could fill some empty seats.
Re: One winning season in the last 7 years and headed for 8!
I have little doubt this is Orr's last season. He'll be fired. Now, whether it happens sooner rather than later, I don't know. Given Christopher's way of doing things, probably at the end of the season.
Why am I so confident?
Because I'm one of those folks the AD calls when they need folks to pony up some extra $$$ for tickets to sell out venues they don't want to look empty -- like last year's home finale in the Stroh (how sad is that?)
When they called me this year about tickets for the Buffalo football game in Columbus, I gave them an earful about Orr and how he has ruined the basketball program. Now, whether the guy wanting the money on the other end of the phone was simply being polite because he wanted money or not, I got a clear message back from him that I am far from the only person saying these things to him when he's calling people.
If the Falcon Club members who give extra money to the programs are openly complaining about a coach, I think it's pretty much a certainty that coach will be looking for a new job. It was even indicated to me that this was something being discussed even before the season started -- so perhaps Orr was already told he was on a short leash.
Like all of you, I'm tired of being embarrassed by this basketball program (men's). We're just starting to get the hockey team turned around, and the football team MIGHT (MIGHT) actually do something this season...so perhaps there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon for fans of the Falcon athletic program.

Off to a 1-3 start to the season after another loss. Still winless against D-I schools too.
GO BG!!!
Re: One winning season in the last 7 years and headed for 8!
At the midpoint of the season.....winless on the road, only four wins against D-1 competition, and quickly we've fallen to the back of the pack on the MAC East. I knew this year was going to be bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad. It just keeps getting better and better! ](/img/ayziggyzoomba/58/58/54314911ff35ed959956620e68458f73.gif)

We've now lost 7 our our last 8 games, just like our 7th non-winning season in the last 8 years. Tell me Greg Christopher, how is this program "tracking" in your eyes???? And not just this season, the near last decade? The dwindling fan base would love to know your thoughts.
GO BG!!!
