I'm not convinced Kent is a better than us euther. Their leg up in this game is that they could capitalize on opportunities better than we could. Their turnovers seemed to be our mistakes while their turnovers seemed to be forced by our D. I wasn't watching, only listening, so I may be a little off. I really think BG is a better team. What if Archer was hurt and playing at less than 100% like some of our guys? What if what if what if...
Yeah right girl!

I haven't seen a player like Dri Archer in a long time. But, it was really good to see us get the passing game going.

We're a good team but Kent is a better team.

Lets beat Buffalo and hopefully get a bowl game.

Just got back from the Doyt....yeah, it was disappointing to lose like that, but damn... that was a hell of a fun football game to watch. They have Dri Archer...we have Chris Gallon and they went toe to toe all day. Just a great afternoon to watch a game in my favorite place in the world...Bowling Green, OH...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

On our way out of the stadium, a father and son from Kent were walking past us. The boy said, "Dad, Bowling Green was REALLY good." The father responded, "Yes, they have a very good team. They are going to cause fits for somebody in a bowl game."

Overall, that game was just awesome. We couldn't stop Archer, no matter what. He's just so fast when he gets space. If there was one thing we could have done different at the end, it was run the ball just once. We had 1:22 or so and we were past midfield. Kent wasn't respecting the run at that point, and one run could have given us 8 yards easily, if not more. It would have also forced Kent to respect the running game some when it came down to the end, which could have opened things up. But, I still really liked that game. I didn't feel we were outclassed at all, and that game involved two evenly matched teams going toe-to-toe. I couldn't ask for much more on a sunny, mild, Saturday afternoon at Doyt Perry Stadium.

Couldn't agree more. Really nothing to complain about. They ran the ball, we passed the ball. They just ran the ball a little bit better. On to Buffalo.

Sentinel-Tribune:

“This one hurts more than ever,’’ BG linebacker Paul Swan said. ‘‘This is probably one of the worst feelings I have had after an athletic competition in my life.
‘‘It (hurts) not to not send the seniors out on the right way in their last home game. It (hurts) that we can’t make the MAC championship now. It (hurts) for a lot of reasons,’’ Swan added.

“The effort and desire I have not fault with what our guys did,’’ Clawson said. ‘‘Our guys have worked hard. To get to this point in the season and play a game of this magnitude and to come up short, it hurts.
“The players have invested a lot in the season. We wanted to win a MAC championship and that was a realistic goal. When the clock struck zero it was no longer a realistic goal.’’

Where did you read it was called a moral victory?

Don't make me get statistical on your ass mr "creative username". I'll pull in historical data, population by zip code, distance to population enriched areas, and the fact that your team is having the best season in decades and your school can "only" manage an average of 17.8K.

I do this s**t for a living and I won't leave you in a pretty state. Stay classy, simpleton.

RUIT, you are a statistician for a living? If so, that would make you my long lost brother as well as the perfect person of which I should ask some questions.

Not a true statistician, but insurance analyst (property/casualty). Similar skills but with a hell of a lot more data points. I'll see what I can do.

Yep, the way the players hung their heads and sulked off the field after the game was over proves how big of a moral victory it was.

Seems so by reading posts in here. The team might not think so but many in here do.
