Akron Class of 2013

Post by Rollo83 »

Akron basketball announces signing four to their class of 2013. Heavy on big men...

6'9" Kwan Cheatham (Cincinnati) 12.8 ppg 5.7 rpg
6'6" B.J. Gladden (Charlotte, N.C.) 19 ppg
6'6" Aaron Jackson (Gahanna) 15.6 ppg 5.1 rpg
6'10" Isaiah Johnson (Cincinnati) 17.3 ppg 11.3 rpg

The averages are all their junior-year stats. Why do I get the feeling they can all play? And, they'll continue to develop and improve over their four years in Dambrot's program.

Makes our situation look so much more depressing...

And we bring in 6'10" transfers who didn't average 5 points nor 5 rebounds in high school (or whatever his horrible stats were).

Plus he didn't play for Iona. Plus he only had 3 small offers out of high school to which we were one. Plus we needed a shooter. Plus we already have a 6'9" project who couldn't score in high school.

Not firing Orr after last year set us back for a long time. He had 4 scholarships to give, thats a third of a team. A new coach could have done a makeover asap. Now I actually don't hate our recruits for this year and am particularly excited about Tisdale, but the new coach coming in will likely only have 2 and at most 4 scholarships (If Chauncey leaves and we don't give anyone the 4th schollie from this year before Orr is fired)
