Much easier today not having to worry about Archer.

I really hope someone pushes Schilz in camp next year. Too inconsistent.

I don't care for Schilz' disposition either. Clawson trying to tell him something on the sidelines and the coach has to chase the QB to talk to him.

Schilz is terrible at making decisions...especially when he's under pressure. That screen pass that was intercepted is a classic example. By the end of his junior year as a third year starter, you should be able to trust your QB with the ball. I don't think Clawson does. That's why our play calling is so whack at times. They don't trust him to call a portion of the playbook. Sad.

Schilz is the weakness of this team IMO.

8-4 though :)

Pretty frustrating we couldn't run the ball any better. With the weather the way it was, you'd expect us to be able to put two 100 yd backs out there by the end of the game. Oh well, 8-4 is definitely a solid season. Can't wait for bowl season!

Teams are loading the box with 7 or 8 men to stop the run and daring Schilz to beat them. That would be my stategy if I was develping a scheme against us.

Schilz will hit a big play every now and then...and he can move the ball between the 20's occasionally if teams are playing the run. However, inside the red zone he's terrible. Poor decision making and an inability to scramble is a bad combination.

Good thing we have a great defense.

Inability to scramble? He ran for a TD inside the 10....Not saying he's perfect, but Schilz is a good QB. I think he tries to do too much with his arm at times...but I think we can win the MAC with him under center.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Any idea on "butts in the seats" attendance?

Even if that's just counting tickets sold, that sounds pretty average for the Black Friday game that isn't T*ledo related. I suppose this worked out better than expected.

Just for comparison, here's some other Black Friday games attendances we had:

2007: 18,926 (vs. Toledo)
2008: (away)
2009: 14,075 (vs. Toledo)
2010: 5,121 (vs. WMU)
2011: (away)

I'm not sure how many were there, but from the ESPN3 feed there were very few people on the side across from the press box.

That was why I ask. I saw that and it looked brutal! I would certainly hope the other side had many more, or there were less than 2,000 there!

Congrads on winning 8 games! I really didn't think this team could win 6 games. Glad I was wrong. Good luck in the bowl game.

Solid year for the MAC!
