osu honors Tressel Satuday...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

How about that? At the osu/UM game Saturday, the 2002 BCS title team was honored and the players carried the Sweater Vest off the field on their shoulders. And guess what? The osu faithful gave him a STANDING OVATION. Do these morons in Cbus understand their perfect 12-0 record would have put them in the BCS title game had it not been for Tressel???? And I wonder how Urbie felt watching all this unfold. It should have been about him, not Tressel. But bucks fans have a very short memory...and they are now blaming Gene Smith for all the trouble. Too funny...

Tressel is their Messiah. They are incapable of seeing what he did wrong.

I know what he did wrong. I just think it wasn't really that awful.

Not to defend anyone here, but that celebration was to honor the 2002 National Championship team, of which Tressel was the coach. The fans were honoring the team, not necessarily the coach. It was the players that lifted Tressel on their shoulders, not the fans.

Yes...but none of us are surprised that the players would be as oblivious to reality as their fans ;)

JoePa is still idolized by many in Happy Valley even though he harbored a pedophile....some people get so blinded by relatively meaningless achievements that they lose perspective...

Some people get so blinded by other things that they trivialize relatively meaningless actions and compare them to harboring pedophiles.

Didn't compare the actions of the coaches....pointed out that fans are willing to overlook a broad range of unethical, immoral and illegal behavoir if it means they can shout "we're #1" at some point during their pathetic lives.

That's fine...I have an obsession...I can not and will not ever pass up an opportunity to drill OSU fans on their hypocrisy. They went nuts on RichRod when the NCAA cracked down on Michigan because they didn't count the time allocated for stretching as "practice time". When the Buckeye's get caught doing worse it's "Stupid NCAA...we didn't do anythig that bad". :)

OSU fans are the worst. They downplay what he did to the point where they rationalize him into some kind of saint that was just doing this to look out for the kids. They turn it into a positive. While I don't think its a career killer, and for what he could do at BG that IMO no one else could do, I certainly think he was wrong, and cheated and isn't a great guy. I just am not sure I need my HC to be a great guy.
