Article on Jerry York's run to break Mason's record

Jerry York is about to break Ron Mason's record as the all time winningest coach in college hockey!! Nice mentions of BG in the article too.

Way to go, Jerry!!! :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

York tied Mason's record last night.

Hard to believe that BG has at one-time had both the top two winningest coaches in college hockey. However, both left BG in the prim of their careers to go one to achieve greatness else where.

Congrats Jerry York

BG is stilling pumpming money into sports where we can "think" we can win BCS Bowls or "actually" get to the final four, hmmm maybe we missed the boat. Would have been nice to see this career achievement at the ice arena.

Only time in BCS history that a one lose non-AQ school has made it. We better make it next year or that small window of opportunity that Northern Illinois took advantage will be gone in 2014 when the 4-team playoff starts. I'm guessing within five years after that an 8 team playoff will be created.

No way is a MAC team ever getting invited to that tournament. Take any MAC Team in the last 30 years none have ever reached the top 8 in the country. As good as BG's teams were in the early 2000's or Ball State's great-run a few years ago no MAC team has ever reached the top 8. Once this playoff is created the window of opportunity will be completely shut for any of the non-AQ schools. Bosie State is trying to get ahead of the curve by going a conference in which has automatic qualifier, only after years of dominance. Bowling Green and the rest of the small D-1 schools might as well be I-AA because the big schools are squeezing them out.

Only one thing wrong with your reasoning on Boise...the Big Least is NO LONGER considered an Auto Qualifier...mediocrity at its finest.

I guess then years of dominance for Boise is still worth nothing...........because they will shut out as well. :(

Congrats to Coach York on getting the record-breaking victory in a win over Alabama-Huntsville yesterday.
