I would suspect most of the bowls will be solidified Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. The MAC bowls will likely wait until after the BCS to see the fate of NIU.

Foolish, I know, but I'm hoping for the Music City Bowl. Driving fam up from Dallas and that would be the ideal location and date to stop for the night.

Unless the MAC gets 6 bowl slots, I fear we're sitting home. Say what you will, but in a head to head, OU goes before us. It's ONLY about the money and OU would likely draw more financial interest (top 25 ranking, Win over Penn State, Frank Stolichnaya being coach)

Thought UC was going to run away with it, up 14-0.

I have no idea if Middle Tennessee is a lock...but, they are currently, getting absolutely waxed, 45-0 early in the 4th. It would drop them to 8-4 (6-2). They beat Ga. Tech....but lost to McNeese St (FCS).

Apparently La-Tech declined the Independence Bowl, which means it is now a MAC bid.

So, the MAC has 6 teams for 5 guaranteed slots-

Go Daddy- Kent
Little Caesars- NIU
Idaho- Ball State
Military- Ohio / BG
Independence Bowl- Toledo

With these as back-ups
BBVA- Pitt
Beef O'Bradys- BG/ Ohio

Those are my guesses.

C'mon UC!

Interesting tweet from John Wagner:

RT @StatManMatt: @jwagnerblade Think Pitt also needs to lose? <{- To be certain, yes. My guess ... just a hunch, mind you: no.

Here's a theory: What if, in the event Pittsburgh wins, the Motor City Bowl pits Bowling Green against Toledo in order to freeze out a school from another conference (such as Western Kentucky. That's just an example; I haven't studied the bowlology like some people have).

The idea of a Bowling Green-Toledo bowl game makes the most sense as an effort to maximize places to play for the MAC this year.

Just a thought.

With UConn losing I think BG is in, MAC will have six tie ins to bowls.

South Florida is absolutely terrible. Zero points at halftime. Looks like we will be sweating this one out. Still think we are in but who knows. Wouldn't be the first time an 8-4 MAC team gets screwed.

And they were picked to win the Big Least by some outlets before the season.

So was Pitt, lol. 4 of the 10 teams finished tied for 1st, Big East was baaaaad this year.

I think we end up in Tampa vs UCF.
