Tickets for BG vs MSU in December

Post by Falconboy »

Just heard some chick talking to Todd Walker on the radio during the football game saying that it'll be nearly impossible to get tickets for this game unless your a season ticket holder or a flex-plan holder. Is this hype to drum up more season ticket sales or does everyone believe tickets will be gone before too long for that game? I don't know what our season tickets sales are for men's basketball are but they can't be more than the women at least not as of late.

Walked into the Strow Center to get some tickets for three games - MSU and two others. There was no one in front of me so I went right to the window, explained what I wanted, then I waited 25 minutes before they finally were able to set me up. Not the first time this has happened, but never waited quite that long. Seemed like the young man waiting on me was doing an internship or something, because he had no clue. Finally someone knowing something helped him. In the other window was a young lady eating potato chips.

I can tell you that I got a got a call from the BG ticket office a little over a week ago, asking if I was interested in MSU tickets.... The game is during the week, we're awaiting the arrival of a new granddaughter (imminent)....so I had to say no. :-k

I believe initially the only way to get tickets to the MSU game was through one of the following avenues:

A) Season Tickets
B) Purchase a 3 game "flex plan" where you get MSU plus 2 games of your choice
C) I think Falcon Club members could buy individual tickets for that game

Given the expectations of this season, and how poorly we've started off I'm guessing that they won't sell out the arena with these restrictions. I would expect that at some point they'll open it up to purchasing single game seats for that game, but not sure when/if that will happen.

Personally I think it's a great idea to leverage that MSU game into selling extra tickets to other games. Of course I wish that our program were good enough that people actually WANTED to go to 3 games a season...

+1 (not x1)

For all of my interest in BG basketball I don't really care if I can catch this game on tv tonight or not.

Globe, I am really getting tired of reading your comments!!! You complain about our offense in football one day and praise it the next. You complain about our defense yet never been to a game this year. Now your on the basketball board saying you won't even watch a game this year, but you will still B$TCH B$TCH B$TCH. If your not going to follow them thats fine, some probably would prefer you didn't follow them. But if you don't follow the team then please stop your B$TCHING!!!! Go back and watch your Buckeyes!!!!!

I am sorry everyone, but it had to be said. Heck, Birdman and Dustin at least had better criticism

I am sure like everyone else here I had hoped that you had disappeared. I always love the "I am sorry everyone but it had to be said" posts. Like everyone was piling against me and you are the courageous one who stepped up. Just wasn't happening and you are delusional if you think it was.

If you were not paying attention I was among the most optimistic here when it comes to basketball, annoyingly I think (lol). I don't think I have ever complained about our defense in football, with the exception of when they seemed to tire in the Kent game and had no answer to Dri day. I complain about Schilz on offense and don't think I have praised our offense with the exception of it's talent. We have a talented offense at the skill positions. As far as basketball goes, I am losing my interest in the crappiness of the program. I don't think anyone here would blame me.

Just got an email today. They are now selling a "limited" amount of single game tickets for $35 for this game. My guess is that between season ticket holders and flex plans, they weren't very close to capacity. However, weren't the flex plans $45? Perhaps offering single game tickets for $35 is a way of trying to push the 3-game flex plan?

I wonder if they could sell these tickets better if BG was not playing in the game.

Yo, gmartin, this is an open, anonymous message board, and nobody is forcing you to read anything. Also, Globe is right - you don't speak for anyone but yourself.

MSU scrimmages themselves? Or they take all 26 players and do a draft before the game?

Maybe if MSU played BG HS. Where is Vito going again? I don't remember being super impressed with him from his Zapruder films and I know we have some that have seen him in person.

Wisconsin. Vito is plenty talented and is probably the best basketball player playing in BG.
